Gravity Owners,

UX 3.6.3 is currently rolling out and includes several enhancements designed to improve rear cabin comfort and convenience:
  • Rear climate now activates more consistently when a passenger is detected or a seatbelt is buckled in the second or third row.
  • On equipped vehicles, enabling rear climate will always activate airflow to the third row.
  • The rear climate power state (On/Off) is now remembered across drives, helping ensure passenger comfort from the moment they enter the vehicle.
Once you've had an opportunity to install and experience UX 3.6.3, we'd love to hear your feedback:
  • Has the updated rear climate behavior improved your experience?
  • Does the system perform as you expect in real-world use?
  • Are there scenarios where you would expect different behavior?
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us!

It seems to be working very well now. Even when the rear climate is off, as soon as passenger clicks the seat belt, I notice it comes on.

One thing that I don't like is the fan noise when the rear climate is on. I think the car pumps excessive ventilation in AUTO mode. On BMWs, for example, you can adjust the ventilation bias in AUTO mode.

Thank you, @mfdutra. This feedback is appreciated.

Awesome to see the software improvements rolling out so quickly, this is one of our remaining frustrations after 3.6.0 resolved the frunk opening issue, can't wait to install it. We have kids in the back that aren't heavy enough to trigger the sensor, can't imagine how this wouldn't improve it.

Only other major issue is the rear hatch has the same exact "sometimes fails to open" issue that the frunk had (ideally it should pause for a moment to ensure it fully unlatches but it doesn't) , is that on the roadmap for a fix?

Can this feature be down-ported to Air? I have to manually turn on the rear climate every time someone gets in the rear. It is very annoying to do it manually ☹️

Great question. I have shared this thread with our product managers. I can’t comment on whether this can be accommodated, but there is awareness of the request.

So far, so good. My son reported that it immediately turned the air on in the 2nd row, but the display did not indicate that the air was on

Would really love to provide feedback on this as I have two children in car seats and the current behavior in 3.6.0 is very inconsistent—so much so that EVERY time they are in the vehicle it is part of my routine to set the HVAC for them.

May the software lottery choose my VIN so I can report back.

Eliminating airflow capabilities to the 3rd row area for 5 seat vehicles is a huge disappointment. I hope Lucid reconsiders that in the future. The 2 row Gravity loses a lot of practicality for those wanting to transport pets.

The updated rear climate behavior now better recognizes when I have a grandchild in a car seat/booster seat secured with a seat belt on the second row.
Previously, the seat sensors did not recognize the lighter weight of some of my grandchildren.

Also, because the power state is remembered across drives, even when car seats and seatbelts aren't used the rear climate stays on to better cool the interior.
I no longer have to use the pilot panel to turn on the rear climate.

The air flow to the third row is very helpful when car camping.

This release timing was perfect! My parents came to town today to do some house shopping so we were in and out of the car most of the day. Even though it was in the mid 90s outside, my 2 young boys happily took the 3rd row and said it was perfect back there for them. And I didnt have to worry about my parents having to re-enable the cooling in the 2nd row each time we hopped out and back in.

Good to hear. I have a 5 and 3 year old in the back seat of my Air and I have to affirmatively remember to turn on the rear AC, especially one thrown here in the summer. It’d be great if it remembered the last setting.

These are the little improvements that would add so much to the Air.

@mike1121 what about you? :) I remember you complaining also about this. Did you install already 3.6.3?

Hey Margie,

My Gravity is in the shop for a new windscreen currently so I can't comment on the enhancements mentioned... Can I ask that the software team focus on HUD enhancements? :) I'm not worried about the position or the "white" screen, I would just like to see more than just speed and directions! (I do like the vehicle approaching indicator on the HUD)

I’ve noticed the last three times I got in the car, the rear climate turns on even though it was set to off before I got out of the car and no one is back there.

ummm...its marqie...not margie

jus' sayin' 😜

@marqie this is a great update! Never had key fob issues so I cannot really speak to that. The rear AC activation for the 3rd row is so welcome!! Zoey says thank you, it works perfectly!

I’m sure my niece and nephew will also appreciate it when we take them to Disneyland tomorrow. 😂

Appreciate the continued effort to improve and refine these vehicles.

One thing that I don't like is the fan noise when the rear climate is on. I think the car pumps excessive ventilation in AUTO mode. On BMWs, for example, you can adjust the ventilation bias in AUTO mode.
Adding onto this, I don’t notice excessive fan noise? It’s relative for me to how low I have it set on auto mode. 65° when it’s 95° out? It’s loud. 75° in the same conditions and it’s much quieter.

Everything else seems to be performing as expected. No issues. This update also installed really fast.
