Bricked - no one picks up support phone

Getting a call back is a good sign. Was everything smooth at drop off? How long did they estimate service on your car would take?

At this rate, if service doesn't improve, when my lease is up I'll be looking elsewhere. If in a year they can improve, I'll reconsider so not completely written off... yet.

So the drop-off yesterday morning went okay. The service guy was there to take care of me immediately (which was good). There was a snafu where he had the wrong key for my loaner so that was a 10 minute delay. (It happens and thankfully I wasn't in a rush anyway). Next he brought out a new 2026 Touring with only 500 miles but it was in sad shape dive bombed with bird poop (you can hear and see a LOT of Seagulls in the area unfortunately). It also had very little charge so I said I was okay to wait to get 10 minutes on the DCFC and he also rinsed it off to clear off the obnoxious poop everywhere. It ended up being an additional 25 minutes at that point when all said and done. Then the walk around (new car so nothing wrong with it).

The part I wasn't the happiest about was that I am to expect this to take 2 or 3 weeks. I was expecting 2 or 3 days (not 2 or 3 weeks). I asked why so long when I had this appointment set up 3 weeks ago so I could also get the loaner (I guess they just got a new group of loaners in so that part was nice). It was explained that 1st the intake manager has to assess and see what parts need to be ordered, then when all parts are in, it will be assigned a tech. Except it didn't make much sense because I made the appointment when I was told my parts are already in but I did have some additional issues that I wanted addressed so I guess potential parts for them? I suppose at least I have a newer Lucid to use in the meantime and not stuck in an ICE Enterprise (I was warned that might be the case when I set up the appt). This is my 1st time in a Touring loaner. It's fully loaded like mine and also 'stealth package'. I honestly prefer my own car. In the past I have always been in AGT loaners but to be fair, they didn't really have many Touring or Pure's available to put into 'loaner' status at 1st. I'm just happy to not be in gasoline econobox Enterprise car!

My biggest concern at this point is how much seagull poop will be on my car while it sits outside in their lot waiting? I already say it got to 109 degrees inside my cabin yesterday so they almost immediately parked it outside in their lot.

The good news is I was told a NEW service center will be opening in 2027 much closer to home for me (and not having to deal with Chicago traffic because its north of me in Highland Park when it finally opens!

Obviously service has gotten worse than what I dealt with in the past (as will happen with more cars sold and on the roads). I was happy to hear about the new service center that'll open closer to home. I'm also thankful I was able to have a Mobil tech address my failing driver door handle 3 days before a big road trip right before memorial day (I was able to get that scheduled just 3 days after I called in the issue)

You're next to Rocklin.... they are a great service center. We have AAA so I would just call them and tow it to Rocklin. But I hear you... and it concerns me. I hope someone from Lucid leadership monitors these forums. I know I read them extensively before I signed my lease last fall.

Is seagull poop is your greatest concern, Lucid did good!

Getting service right is top of mind for Billy Hayes, the new Chief Customer Officer. We spoke to him in Charlotte on Saturday. There is a service expansion being worked on right now, but he couldn't share any numbers of what they are talking about. I assume budgetary approvals, et. al.

They know it's too long to get an appointment and too many days in service. Training up additional people is going to be its own challenge. The Lucids are amazing vehicles, but they weren't designed to be easily worked on. Not sure what type of repair he was talking about, but he said it can take up to 4 hours to get one apart enough to work on.

but but....reddit keeps telling me lucid is dead, the bankrupt rumours are true and the cars will stop driving by the end of the month
Oh, is that where you “read it?”

har har

but seriously, any thread in the cars sub (and some comments in the lucid sub) have been toxic as hell. i don't normally think with a tinfoil hat, but even as a mostly neutral observer, it feels like brigading

i have called cs many times - prompt call back every time, but if i were stuck on side of road, I might look at it differently

I am a fair distance from the Michigan service center. I was told by customer care that if I bought a pre owned lucid, that would be my service center.

I have called that service center a few times leaving messages as well as submitting general emails via the lucid website. I have some basic questions like confirming this service center will be covering my car (Cust care wasn’t positive ), how long to get a mobile tech and how much will an out of warranty visit cost given the closed service network. No callbacks. It’s too bad. I really would like to get an Air, as it checks a lot of boxes for me. Until I know I can get service under warranty and after warranty though without waiting weeks, why on earth would I buy or lease a luxury vehicle with plans to drive it for many years.

If I knew I could count on service I would gamble on the company. Hard call now as it seems one should keep an extra car around in the event service is needed. God only knows what lucid will charge for services once the warranty expires. A hard model other than for leases.

Plainview charges $240 per hour. Fwiw I heard that Tesla is $150

LOL. On the flipside there are FB groups that actively censor anything negative / run positivity campaigns.

I find that here, we can have discussions on the negative and positive. I still love my car so waiting upwards of 4 weeks to get it back from service is annoying to say the least. I'm in a loaner that doesn't have DreamDrive which I used daily for commuting to work. Silver lining is I'm not putting miles on my car? 🫠

Thanks. So rounding a bit at a 4 hour one way, it would be 2k fora round trip of a mobile visit. A very helpful data point
I don't think that's correct. I haven't heard reports of Lucid charging for mobile tech travel time.

It's safe to say that if getting prompt service is a key requirement for you, then you shouldn't buy a Lucid right now. But it's not correct that you need to have a second car, as Lucid has been good about getting people loaners, either another Lucid, or a rental. I have faith that Lucid is going to address the problem of their service org being overwhelmed. It's become the #1 source of complaints online, and the expense of giving people loaners for weeks at a time has to be dramatically inflating their warranty service costs. I also completely understand wanting to see an actual improvement before buying, and not just hoping it will come to pass.

I think the concern is more about what you might run into when out of warranty.

In 4 years time, Lucid will have either fixed the service problem or be out of business 🤣. My money is on the former!

Does anyone have experience with getting Lucid service work done when the car is out of warranty? I too am looking at my AGT warranty running out in 4 months and starting to wonder what life will be like post-warranty.

I believe you are choosing the wrong option. My car stopped on a sunday, and customer service wasn't open but there is roadside assistance that is always available and they can provide towing and Uber.

Many states have a clear 30 days out of service in either first year or 18 months would fall under their Lemon Law.
I keep reading about cases where service sometimes keeps the car over this period or cumulative exceed said 30 days.
Assuming they do not provide an identical or better vehicle, does Lucid compensate for the lease payment(s)? Why would those out 30 days cumulative don't demand a repurchase and move on, either a replacement or another brand?

theres just a limited amount of cash to go around. service is back burnered because you already bought the car..you matter less than the potential customer. makes perfect business sense. they need cash coming in. only a flush company can provide the service we expect and even then it might be lacking. the big boss will make service function better as is because it sounds like it has been run poorly which leaves opportunity for improvement. still it really sucks for us
