Ok.... who has done it? Who has tried the Amazon Performance 120.00 tire? Like this one...

Does anyone here have luck with these? I mean.... I can buy almost 4 tires for what the "regular" one costs. Has anyone tried this? Any luck?
 
Don't do it...you will get what you pay for..exactly 1/4th of the performance..probably in the moment you need it the most...safety first.
 
I know it's cliche, but it's the most important part of the car.
When I owned my Prius, I still put Michelins on it... even though the 0-60 was measured in days.
 
Their emergency stopping distance is like 30% more than a well-developed tire. I am good with a tire that is 60-70% of the cost of a premium Michelin, Pirelli or Continental but definitely not 25%....How much are you really saving once you lose efficiency and longevity as well?
 
I'm cheap but not stupid. I did pay that price for Blizzak snows. They were on special from Tirerack. They were dated 2023. Should be worn out by spring of 2028 so no issues.

Tire rack has Pirelli's for $160 (only two dated 2023).
 
There are places where it makes sense to save money. Tires and Brakes do NOT fall into that category.
 
I recall a story about the CEO of one of the bit US companies, perhaps BFGoodrich, who said that if you knew what went into making a tire, you would never put your family into any vehicle equipped with anything less that the most premium tire a manufacturer made.
 
Literally everything done to a car to make it ride and handle is only translated into the road by 4 relatively small tire contact patches.
It is not worth any risk to "cheap out" on that. The sheer amount of load, temperature, tread design, tire compound, hydroplane resistance and overall stress testing is what you pay for.

FWIW, I've always gone for Michelins on any car that could run them. Not a huge fan of the P-Zero Elects on my 21" GT wheels but I believe they are still the only tire offered. I would love to get Michelin PS4 EV tires but I think they max out at 20"?

You might be in luck, unless I am misunderstanding (I think they changed the lineup to accommodate the Sapphire):
 
OOOh. Well, after having to replace both fronts due to pothole bubbles, I not inclined to buy a full set until they wear out!
But good to know!

The new Cayenne has some nice Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires, they might be big enough or give a non-Porsche option soon enough...

Pilot Sport EV has been OEM for Lucid 20" on Air... They have worked well for me. 23k on fronts and still have original rears at 26k.

Um... you do know that if you have the Pirelli tire, and the 19" (for example) that the factory tire is warrantied for 50,000 mile life within 6 years from Pirelli and if it wears out before that, you get a pro-rated discount for the same replacements.
