Target $0

Well, they should have.
The rumors are very much bankruptcy or private. Lucid only addressed bankruptcy so they don't get sued later when it goes private which is the obvious next step.
They won’t go private for many reasons. It will cost Saudi another 10 billion and Uber taxi won’t take off in US, security concerns being a Saudi company.

Saudi can just throw another 2-3 billion at it.

Remember, Uber bought at $10, BAC at $8 just a few months ago.

Think Saudi will burn those bridges first a few billion? Nope!

And Saudi cars won’t sell!

Just logically, it’s not like Lucid’s issue is burdensome debt payments. So why would they go into bankruptcy?
You only go bankrupt if you can’t get funding. Lucid has another 1.2 billion they can draw on in addition to the 800 million they took in. If they announce going bankruptcy now, they will have massive shareholder lawsuits.

Still showing HALT in my Fidelity account but also seems to be trading around $4.30.

... HALT off now. Trading around $4.75.

Not the obvious next step, a possible next step. Lucid can deny bankruptcy because unless something changes its not in the cards. They can't deny going private because they don't know how the Saudi's will proceed. Any speculation by the company could open them up to lawsuits at a later date.

I was only able to buy 1,160 shares at $4.30.
Today was a great opportunity to DCA down.
It's likely that my other order at $3.21 cannot be fulfilled.

It’s was a rumor initiated by EV website. If going bankrupt they wouldn’t take 800 million debt. They won’t go private, they lose autonomy vehicle advantage due to being purely Saudi company. They wouldn’t have hired new team if that’s the plan.

Alix partners actually suggested they stop Europe expansion and concentrate on quality.
Where did you hear they with Europe?!

Welp - it's been an interesting ride today. Reminder to sell some of my complete losers (aside from LCID) :D and take some profits on a couple.

This is crazy it went down 45% then up 30%
It's almost like rumors caused the stock to tank and someone (ahem, Claudio Afonso) is likely about to get sued pretty hard for libel, but who knows.

(This is unsubstantiated. I just hope it happens, because that guy is a useless tabloid troll who likes to play 'easy bake journalism' and provides literally no value with no journalistic integrity, but that's just my opinion.)

Its good it turned out fake. But going down 55% on a fake news is still Bad, current Lucid position made many believe its true. This proves that Lucid is hanging on a very thin line and there is no more room for mistakes.

I wonder if Claudio Afonso bought the dip.

I agree. I am not suggesting "this is fine," despite it all being untrue. I am simply suggesting there is no reason to panic. Literally nothing changed today other than a bunch of nonsense and a bunch of people had their adrenaline spiked.

I wonder if Claudio Afonso bought the dip.
If he did, I sincerely hope he gets sued for all he's worth.

Inability to generate a sizable consumer demand?

I can't imagine bankruptcy is coming, but, I would imagine they need a longer time to complete the Cosmos and would have an easier time doing it without shareholder pressure. If I was them I would just sell off the remaining Air and Gravity, finish the Cosmos in KSA factory and be a homegrown brand for that market.

Lucid may not want to deal with Discovery though which would almost certainly be a given if they sued him. Its probably why these trash outlets get away with it because they know companies won't go after them for fear the slightest little thing discovered in the discovery process could make it worse for them.

They were never gonna generate truly sizable demand for a $100k vehicle. That's what $50k Cosmos & Earth are for (if they make it that far and if they get the costs low enough to sell them for that and make a profit... all big IFs).
