Lucid (allegedely) hires AlixPartners as part of restructuring.

CarBuzz is angling bankruptcy because Alix advised Enron, KMart and GM. However, they also do global strategy, and I'm not 100% on that, especially since Lucid just drew 800 million of their debt option from PIF backed funds last week. I doubt PIF would have let that happen if they knew BK was imminent.

I wondered when they did not replace the COO if they would be doing more in KSA than USA. The new C suite is very global, the Cosmos is supposed to be made in KSA, so it makes sense.

I do not think they are going bankrupt but I do think they are getting their $hit together!

Explains all the changes, restructuring. If planning for bankruptcy, they wouldn’t take that 800 million loan. Internet is just full of buffoons trying to get clicks.

Yes, however Lucid needs to get their act together fast. Any prospective buyer researching Lucid just reads the headlines. Who knows how many actual buyers reading articles like these have been swayed away from giving Lucid a chance.

Just need to wait and see what they say at the earnings call, will be telling,

Speaking about changes, I read something on LinkedIn about how this new C-Suite exudes testosterone... not a single female leader appointed.
Also their marketing is very male oriented, aimed at men who may buy a car for their wives if they want to, totally ignoring potential female buyers. Hadn't thought about that before, but I do see it now.

Waiting for the disagreements to come in 3, 2, 1... 🙂

Car and Driver also ran an article saying “Lucid offering no interest on Gravity due to no interest”. Hard to argue things aren’t great right now no matter how much you might like how your Lucid drives.

The last thing to make me want to buy a car is to have Timothy Chalamet as your featured celebrity. 🤣 That seems like an anti-testosterone move to me.

But then they gave it a 10/10 rating, and on their 2027 review I think they only changed the year and republished the exact same article, because it doesn't even make sense.

Alix Partners is more than a "bankruptcy specialist". They have strong corporate restructuring and automotive consulting teams in their practice. I have worked with and competed against Alix Partners automotive consultants, usually in relation to startup EV companies. NDA prevents me from providing details, but they are very well staffed in that area. Saying they are bankruptcy specialists is like saying BMW is a grey car specialist. It's true but it is nowhere near the complete truth.

That's why I didn't use the CarBuzz headline and clearly explained that I don't think they are declaring backrupty...i did not write the article.

Nor am I Doug DeMuro, as another member thought I was.

I am the reason that you can edit after 45 minutes instead of the original 10. Back when @borski was "funemployed" he would spend all day on here fact checking me and I wasn't fast enough
He is always watching

Precisely. I posted this on Reddit this morning:

While AlixPartners has advised on some of the largest Chapter 11 reorganizations including General Motors Co., Kmart, and Enron Corp, the firm has since moved into a more traditional consulting space, and grown to a staff of over 1000.

This is a whole lot of non-news re: bankruptcy. Also, they’ve hired like a dozen consulting firms before. I hope AlixPartners is useful. :)

(Which agrees with what @socktucker said; carbuzz is speculating, not providing useful journalism here)
