Apple Key coming to Lucid

I have faith that the UWB protocol will offer a better experience. It's a purpose-built protocol for exactly this scenario, vs. Bluetooth which has been shoehorned every which way since the late 90s. I can't fathom why Lucid thought relying solely on BLE would be a good idea. I'm sure it was simply much cheaper for them to implement.
Gravity uses UWB, just to be clear.

UWB wasn't fully baked or widely available when the Air's design was frozen.

I was talking more about the FOB, in contrast to using standard RF that's worked well for decades. BLE for mobile device functionality is totally understandable given the compatibility but should be treated as secondary to a standard RF FOB.

Looks like code for Apple Key is in the iOS 27 beta.

Well now we know what was holding Paak out...

So we have to wait until iOS 27 or is it also in the 26 updates and nobody is looking i wonder.

I am running iOS 27 beta 3 now…. Gonna go try.
Needs to be visible in the Lucid App to add into the wallet so no dice until Lucid lights it up in the app.

Zegna is a marvelous atelier.
Agreed. I'm a Thom Browne client which is under the Zegna umbrella now so they source a lot of fabrics from Zegna. Beautiful stuff. Makes you look great while using the Apple Key ( trying to stay on topic haha).

I just accepted delivery of my Gravity yesterday and found out that not only does it not come with 2 key fobs, but instead comes with 2 wallet cars and 1 key fob.
But that it does not support Passive Phone as a Key using the lucid app like the air did. I was quite disappointed to see this feature not available on the Lucid Gravity. now that I see this post I am glad to see that its just a matter of time until Lucid releases a software update for it and that its not a hardware limitation but just a Software limitation.

Gravity's phone-as-a-key solution has the potential to be better than the Air's, as it uses Ultra Wideband rather than Bluetooth. It's a new standard with technology specifically designed for locking/unlocking. You'll need a newer iPhone or Google / Samsung phone to make it work.
