Thread 'Forum traffic seems slow'

One indicator I often use on high tech high priced items is high traffic on forums discussing that new tech.

Where is everybody? Couple posts a day, really?

I would have expected and hoped this forum would be buzzing.

If something doesn’t have enough volume it won’t survive or be supported in the long run.

Just going to point out.... There are a few people on this thread that have well over 1000 posts and are NOT supporting member of this group. Just adding to my membership drive from another post.... Please support if you are here often... =) It is for all of us!

Why? Is there financial trouble with keeping this site up? Besides ongoing compute costs and initial work getting this set up, maintenance should take very little effort.

The value of this forum is from the contributors who spend their time and effort engaging with the community. They should not be pressured to pay because of their many posts - their posts are what make this forum valuable.

I fully agree! Thank you for supporting the site... no I see it like a tip... I mean... I think we all truly enjoy this... I am pretty sure no one does it as a business... But we all use it and appreciate it. If you saw Joe out at a lunch spot, wouldnt you offer to buy the guy lunch? I sure would. We engage to help that is our personality... but I cant buy Joe Lunch so the least I could do is say thank you for this by a very small supporting donation. A "tip" if you will.... The place wont go away if we dont.... But I am sure the team loves the "tips" =)
 
How long till the thread gets renamed “issues choosing favorite moderator or admin”

In light of the amazing profits this year, we are going to go to a new form of accounting. I like to call HFV… hypothetical future value…

It’s going to allow us to add $1 billion to the bottom line….
 
Does any one how much the costs are to run the forum?:)

Hard nope. Seems like a nice guy, but I have only ever been me.

(It makes me feel a little weird to have an AI-generated copy of my avatar out there, ngl)

Even when I was doing stage and closeup magic, I never used plants. :)

To be clear: while the mods appreciate any supporting members (after all, this site is pointless without the members), this is not an “official fundraising drive” or anything remotely of the sort.

This is @Macrocosmcwh ‘s hill, and while we’re thankful for it (as anyone would be; being appreciated is nice), I want to be super clear that it is neither directly nor indirectly coming from the mods or admins on this site.

Moreover, I feel about it the way I feel about philanthropy. Some people contribute money; others contribute time. Others contribute both, and some contribute nothing. I’d argue only the latter is “bad”
