Lucid Gravity Nuro sighting in Houston

No way to tell if a test driver is driving or if the car is driving. But the problem with the modern big-data approach to training autonomous driving AI is that there's probably a huge amount of terrible human driving included in your training data. Ideally you'd go through all the training data and cull the kind of driving you wouldn't want an AI to do. But ain't nobody got time for that! 🤣
 
Well to be sure while we may not agree with the logic that doesn’t mean it’s a bug
 
It’s almost like it’s not done yet and you’re looking at an unreleased version that may or may not have bugs 🤔 :p
 
They have been training in Houston for a couple months now. It was reported that Houston will be second city (after San Francisco) to go live with Gravity/Nuro/Uber taxis. Most testing appears to be inner city (inside Loop 610) only, so that will probably be limit of early Lucid taxi availability. Waymo is currently limited to inner city area in Houston also.
 
My money is on a human driver who was unfamiliar with the area, and distracted.
 
Saw one in San Jose near Santana Row last Fri.
I made a u turn and noticed it was a couple car behind me heading from the Valley Fair Studio
