How do you take a nap in the Gravity?

Was in a parking lot waiting for someone and it ended up taking an hour. The car never went to sleep because the key was in the car.
I had to manually turn teh headlights off and turn the pilot panel off, but the main dash stayed lit up the entire time in park.
I disconnected CarPlay in case that was keeping it awake but it made no difference.

If you just want to lock the car and take a quick nap, how do you turn it off?
 
Claude says Creature Comfort mode is a good workaround.
It's on the climate screen, paw print.
You might have to get out then get back in again and close the door to activate it.

Creature comfort leaves the pilot panel on with a message that it's on (so passersby don't think you've left an animal in a hot car).

I suppose you could get a little faraday bag and keep it in the center console if it's something you plan on doing often. The bag will block the key fob from being recognized and it should go to sleep.
 
Eventually the camp mode will help too.
 
Create comfort mode was greyed out.

I guess my suspicion is correct that we need a off button added at some point.

I forget which previous car i had, but if you did not do anything for 10 minutes or something, a note came up on teh screen saying teh car was going to power down.

My Air does that if I put it in park and then sit for about 30min.

I sure hope they put this out soon...and not at the end of camping season. lol My fellow campers will be glad to not get blasted with headlights...

Hmm...I've been using CC nearly daily as I've been car camping across the country. If it's greyed out, I can only guess you had a window down, door open or something else that won't allow it to turn on.

No, you don't have to do this to start it. I regularly turn on CC from my phone when I'm ready to "close shop" and lock myself in the back of the car.

To OP, why even concerned about "turning the car off" if taking a nap. Just lock it and take your nap w HVAC for comfort. It's the beauty of EV's...no reason to shut it off. (If worried about battery, if you're not moving, you're not using nearly any energy/battery...)
 
Just take a nap and don’t worry about it. The Gravity eventually shuts off after about 30 min or so, similar to the Air.

I usually turn on creature comfort to keep the AC on and prevent the Gravity from shutting down for long naps. The alternative is to turn off climate control and roll down the windows if it’s comfortable (and quiet) outside. Climate control is the biggest power draw while parked.
 
As i said, i was in there for an hour and it did not shut off. So I don’t see any evidence to support the 30 minutes idea. Mine would not go to sleep. I did not touch a control.

And to the others asking why…all teh lights and dash were on. Hard to take a nap with all teh lights in your face, plus i just want it dark so others walking by aren’t looking in at me. I shouldn’t have to manually turn headlights and all dashes off. I should be able to turn the car off. There is some beauty in a start stop button.

Shouldn’t be too much to ask. I will have to check next time if creature comfort mode is still greyed out next drive.

Could it be you are moving the key fob while napping in the car? That could cause it to remain awake. Try removing the key fob from your pocket. I’ve had the car shut off on me many times to my annoyance, as the AC shuts off and it gets hot.

I’ve never had any problem activating creature comfort mode. It starts off greyed out until you press it, at which point it turns black to indicate it’s active. Note that you may have to open the door and close it in order to be able to turn off creature comfort mode if the screens are unresponsive (probably to protect creatures from accidentally turning it off.)

I agree that having a one-button camp mode would be nice, but I’m sure Lucid has been prioritizing bug fixes. CarPlay/AA, DDpro hands-free, mic quality, matrix headlights, etc. we’re all high value features in the last release, and only so much can be done with limited resources.

I’m guessing camp mode will be coming at some point in the future as bugs get stamped out and the bigger ticket items are completed.
