First time charging at a true V4 Supercharger (Garden Grove, CA)

It is for a battery of this size, but I often find that time it gives to 80% is often overestimated and it takes a few minutes less.

No Disneyland, passing through on the way to Pasadena for the event tomorrow. I saw that the 500kW V4 opened here 5 days ago so I timed it to try to get to GG around 20%.What are you doing up in GG? Disneyland en route to the Owners Event tomorrow?
Not the most scientific of tests but I wanted to try the V4 as long as I was there. In the end it actually took just about 23 minutes to charge from 23% to 80%.

At least in the US, there are not many EVs at all that can put that much energy in that quickly. And reaching an 80% charge in 23 minutes from about 20%? Less than a handful can do that. Gravity still has one of the best charging curves out there right now and is still top dog until the Cayenne EV releases likely.

Which vehicles in the US are better? I know China has megawatt flash chargers that can charge in 5-10 minutes, but none of that is available in the US.
From what I’ve seen, the Lucid Gravity is still top dog outside of China. @RandomDesign’s data matches the detailed charging curve analysis from StateOfCharge:

I agree with @9point81 that the Cayenne may finally dethrone the Gravity, but not by much. The Gravity will still be among the best (Olympic-level gold vs. silver).

OK.for example the BMW new class ix50 does 75kwh in 20,minutes. Of course not to compare with gravity. I mean just from charging perspective.

Ok… that car is not available in the US right now. That car is coming later this year, along with the Cayenne and both expected to be charging beasts. Right now, Gravity still holds the crown. It was always going to be a temporary thing, so they have it for now but we all fully expect it to be surpassed. And that will still leave a handful of cars in the US that can onboard as much energy as quickly as Gravity can.

The EX60's charging curve is quite good as well. But it won't come to the USA until 2027.Correct.not just chinese cars. The new BMW neue class is amazing considering charge speed.

We do already have in Germany the denza which charges in 9 minutes 100%. It goes to 80 in 6 minutes and charges with 1 mega Watt.. That is crazy. And byd opens 3000 x 1.5megawattt chargers in Europe. Some are in Germany already working.
