I know the manufacturer says don't repair these tires, but Discount Tire uses to 2-step repair, first inserting a plug and then applying an inside patch. They claim it has been approved for all DOT-certified tires. Although it did require tearing out a bit of an acoustic foam block, that should not have any noticeable effect.

As the car has almost 4,000 miles on it, I did not want to have a new tire on just one side, so the repair saved me having to buy another tire for the other side. In fact, I think Discount Tire says they will not put a new tire on a car if the opposite tire has more than 2,000 miles on it.

I just had the exact same repair to the same tire a couple of weeks ago. Discount Tire did a great job, except I had to take it back the next day to get the black tire weights to replace the silver weights. They claimed they were out of those on the day they patched it.

I originally considered the Discount Tire warranty certificates when the car was delivered, but they were exorbitant for the PZ5s.

Wow Nice work. We had a sliced tire 2nd day of ownership. Could not be repaired because it was a large slice. Good to know for future they will repair a hole in the tread even with the quieting foam block.
 
I dropped of my GGT with 21/22’s for service yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to get a Gravity as a loaner instead of an Air, but man, the 20/21’s ride so much better. Softer and quieter on city and highway roads. Makes me regret going with the 21/22’s. When my lease is up I know which option I’ll be going with next!
 
How come that this is so much better to drive?
 
More range with the 20-21s and lower replacement cost too.

I’m so glad there are options for folks. I prefer the 21/22s but I’d never yuck your yum! :)

For performance, 22/23” is hard to beat, especially with Eagle F1 asymmetric 6 tires in 275/295.
