Thoughts About Negative Posts

I'm not disgruntled, I'm just concerned about the service footprint (or lack thereof) in my area.
I might feel the same if I was in a location without good service coverage... I am in L.A. and Lucid has a good footprint here.. The Beverly Hills team under Mitch's leadership has been very good to me...

Service will come, slowly but surely. Wonder if Lucid should have collaborated with parties for service as they are doing in Europe.

At this stage of the game, with Lucid's market share and volume (vis-a-vis, neither small nor large) Lucid can't afford to have their own service centers all over. If Cosmos catches on, Lucid (Service) will be way under water. Mobile tech is supposed to augment their reach. In reality, the current AZ SC in Scottsdale covers AZ, NM, northern TX etc.. They should pair up with an established provider (e.g., Discount Tires, PepBoy, etc.) to do the routine maintenance (e.g., annual, tire rotation, wheel alignment, brake checks, etc.). Lucid already farmed out body work. Glass is another area that should be farmed out. Focus the SC to do new car prep and SW related stuff.

I do notice that the sentiment really changed over the last 9 months, first due to how the Gravity launch went, and now the service woes. But I still find a lot of positivity in the forum, so here I am. There are a small number of people who are pretty repetitively bringing up their negative experience. It's understandable, but sometimes the repetition is a bit much. I haven't felt the need to mute anyone, however. If Lucid can conquer its service problems, I think the tone will change a lot.

I agree. I’ve been “blessed” to have cars without issues, and because I have a relatively open schedule (until tomorrow when I start a full time job again, anyway), I’ve been able to wait until service has a loaner ready, don’t really care how long it takes, etc.

But if I’d had issues all the time that’s a different story. Our cars, our loaners … they’ve just worked. 🤷‍♂️

The Lucid experience is tracking very closely with Tesla's challenge experience. If that is anything to go by, once the lower-priced Cosmos is out, things will accelerate quickly to a crisis point and then the company will divert resources to service.

I’m fine with negative posts. I want to hear them. If there are 1000 people with the same negative experience, I don’t mind hearing about it 1000 times (once per individual). It’s valuable information to know the extent of problems.

I also don’t mind one person posting about 1000 different problems. It’s likewise useful to know about all the different problems.

What gets tiring is reading about the same problem by the same person over and over in different threads. Once is enough.

Maybe create a “I hate Lucid” thread and go at it there? Getting a lemon is terrible - I get that. However, we don’t need a general smear campaign by individuals who had lemons.

I'm hoping they have learned that lesson and are trying not to make that mistake. I know that San Diego SC will be expanding both bays and technicians in response to the recent service crunch.

This is my only foray into social media, so maybe it's the norm now, and I'm just an out of touch crotchety old fart. This forum used to be a wealth of useful information, along with a nice balance of kudos, frustrations, humor, debate, suggestions, commiserations, and outright complaints. It still is, I suppose, as long as I'm willing to wade through the torrents of regret. I find it increasingly exhausting. I guess it's time for me to seek a better balance elsewhere. Ooh... Regret... Sorry.
This isn't really any different than any number of forums about new cars I've been on. Early adopters are excited about their new car. Interest is high from prospective buyers but that fades as they decide to buy or move onto another car. Real life experience from owners are interesting to read the first few times but mean less and less later on.

And bugs take a while to appear. Service problems don't appear until things go wrong. Tips and tricks are fun to talk about but I got tired of saying the same things to new owners on the EV6 forums.

Most people don't stick around to talk about their cars because they, for the most part, become appliances in their daily lives (Sorry, Lucid, this is your ultimate future if you survive). So forums are filled with true evangelists or people looking for solutions to problems. Or people looking to complain. I suppose, at least, they are true evangelists in car forums though. Looking at forums for fridges or dishwashers to find solutions is a real chore.

Well, here's something refreshing. I met two new Air owners this past Father's Day weekend. One was a white Pure owner and the other gray Touring owner with both of them owning less than six months. They both LOVE their cars even though both had minor issues that we nitpick about in the forums (i.e. key fob, pilot screen blanking, profiles not picking up, camera errors, etc) I just gave them a few tips from the forums and they were grateful. They both came from Tesla, and they were raving about how much their cars were better than their previous.

It was nice to see the excitement and joy about people talking about their Airs that I used to be 3 years ago 😎

Are we jaded old men? Is littering the forum with 1st world problems the equivalent of a "get off my front lawn you whippersnappers"?
I never thought of it that way...😏

Guilty 🙂

I like my car. I’ve had a few issues, but service has been good, and overall I think it’s a great machine.

I know a few other local Lucid owners fairly well since we all belong to the same club, and everyone seems generally positive about their cars. The most common complaint from the group are that the Air is too low and wide — I don't have that complaint, and respond by telling them that is what makes it so aerodynamic, stable, and surprisingly spacious inside. 🤔Hard to please everybody, I guess.

The EE youtube hating on Lucid dragged the company perception down quite a bit as well. Another “ hey, look at me” selfish self indulging crappy post.
