Is service overwhelmed?

Here's the crazy thing. Even after they take your car in because of the appointment, like you pointed out, the car sits in the lot until they can get to it to actually work on it because of the backlogged work orders. I had to take my car in twice in the last three months:
1. HVAC repair - car sat in lot for 3 weeks - car rental from Enterprise was $5k for the month I had it
2. 3 Yr service maintenance - car sat in lot for 1.5 weeks - car rental from Enterprise was $1.8k for the 2 weeks

Doesn't seem efficient use of time and money.
I recently navigated a very similar situation regarding my AC compressor. My vehicle was in the shop for three weeks, and I worked closely with the service team to ensure the repairs were completed before my Enterprise loaner agreement expired.
To their credit, they completed a substantial amount of work within that timeframe, including the HVAC, dashboard, pillars, and addressing the delamination of trims. However, upon inspecting the final item—the rear parcel shelf—I discovered it was damaged during the replacement process.
As shown in the attached photos, the damage includes:
  • Three distinct noticeable puncture holes in the parcel shelf material (Reference: thumbnail picture below)
    • PXL_20260613_023718238.webp
  • An unclipped, improperly seated square tab (Reference: thumbnail picture below)
    • Screenshot_20260616-151955.webp
Because I picked up the vehicle right at closing time on a Friday, I opted not to escalate the issue at that exact moment as a professional courtesy, allowing the advisor and technician to head home for the weekend agenda. I have since formally raised the concern with my service advisor (as of Monday this week) but have not yet received a reply.
I would greatly appreciate the community's perspective on this. Given the attached photos and the context of the repair, how would you handle this? Would you continue to actively pursue a fix or replacement from the dealership?
Thanks in advance, Takeshi

my parcel shelf did that too and they replaced it. Especially if a lease you would get charged for those holes.

I hate to do things on a whim (and I only got my car the beginning of last month), but non-responsiveness for something as simple as routine maintenance concerns me.

Due to this I just set up a trade (and am losing about $2500 in the process) for a different vehicle (non-Lucid). I will be getting it on Friday.

The Lucid is a cool car, but that's only half of the ownership experience.
Enjoy your new ride!

The arbitrator and my attorney were also not impressed. My attorney asked their attorney "which company are you representing then?" to which he said "both".

Sorry "Lucid USA, Inc" does the "Manufacturing", i mixed them together

"Lucid USA, Inc" owns the factory and no service or sales centers, with the AZ Business ID 1963976 and Arizona address

"Lucid Group AZ" owns the service and sales centers with the AZ Business ID 25026257 and a California address but does not make cars.

Lemon Law applies to Lucid USA Inc which only made the car. Lemon Law does not apply to Lucid Group AZ which had the failed repairs. They claim.

had to go look up my documents.
In my experience, lawyers do not like to make laughably bad arguments. Certainly not to a judge, and probably not to an arbitrator either. It's weird that we're getting multiple reports of Lucid's lawyers fighting lemon law cases with arguments that do not pass the laugh test. I doubt we'll ever know, but I'd be fascinated to understand what's leading to it. My guess is that the answer is not that the lawyers are all idiots. Rather, they're probably hewing to some corporate policy that's (at best) poorly thought through.

its a staff lawyer so it gets paid the same I reckon. Who knows? Candle burning at both ends, these guys.

A Lucid employee is holding a AMA on the 18th on service. It would be good to ask some hard questions from this thread. From the post:

I’m Erwin Raphael, Senior Vice President of Global Revenue at Lucid. I am excited to share that I’ll be hosting an Ask-Me-Anything on the r/Lucid subreddit on June 18 at 9:00 a.m. PDT. I’m looking forward to answering your questions about purchase and delivery, financing, and service of Lucid Gravity and Lucid Air, as well as the overall Lucid customer experience.

one of the worst experiences in terms of service at the goose island chicago service center, car is sitting there for over a month and still no answer when they can get it fixed. probably lemon is the best option at this point for me

30 days is the magic number, at least here in CA. That’s what got my Land Rover bought back no questions asked. That sucker sat in service for like…2 months total I think.

Although I love my Gravity so much I would just do a buyback and go get another one when I turned it in. 🤣 If I were to be in your shoes

No SC as far as I am aware, just mobile service. Jason is the mobile service tech. He came to my house in Charleston last September and was great. I recently got a letter in the mail about the half-shaft recall (I have a 2025 Air Pure) and called to setup the appointment. Apparently Jason is quite busy as I called on May 25th and got an appointment for July 24th. Having your car serviced in the driveway is awesome and Jason really knew his stuff and was very communicative over text. I just think they need another mobile tech in the area. I think he told me last Sept that he covered the Carolinas and they had 300 cars registered in the area at that time. The Gravity launch has accelerated since then so who knows how many Lucids there are in the Carolinas now...
Jason was at my house about a week and a half ago addressing my driver's door wind noise issue (third attempt). Thankfully he was able to fix it. Overall I've had very positive interactions with him. The only disappointing part of the visit, was finding out he is now responsible for mobile service in Tennessee (in addition to NC & SC).

Do you know what the fix was?

Thanks. I called Lucid yesterday (6/17/26) to get my shaft recall repaired. Jason texted me back within hours and set up an at-home appt for Aug 14. a my place.

Denver; New GGT won't charge, got towed to SC, told "we can look at it in 9-10 business days." thx

Love my '22 AGT but the 21s are pretty dinged up. Talked to mobile service tech on last visit for filters, wipers, etc (DFW area). He said he could bring me new wheels when I was ready. Last month I hit a big pothole and have a tire losing air. Decided to order a set of 19s and the website said to call the service center. I was unable to reach a human on the phone and left my number and voicemails for over a week with no response.
At the end of May I wrote corporate customer care department and they replied that they had started a ticket for me, that the service center would be in touch. Still no contact and the car isn't really safe to drive, certainly not the 3+ hour drive to the Houston service center if that would even make a difference.
I just now left another voicemail, but I'm getting concerned. I've recommended the company to others based on my experience with the car and the limited service encounters I have had. Is my experience with this at all typical? Is Lucid service overwhelmed with Gravity issues?
I opened a ticket for some issues on a 5 day old Gravity and still have not heard anything. I’m in SoCal.

Definitely not cool.

Where are you in SoCal? Did you call the service center? Costa Mesa is closest to me. I put in a request and I got a call back the next day. They have been very responsive. I am scheduled for mobile service a couple weeks out.

A question of curiosity:
> You lost the arbitration claim because you named the manufacturing company vs the service company, correct?
> Is Raphael, who oversees service, an officer of both companies?
> can you refile against "Lucid Group AZ"?

That was their argument, yes.
No, I cannot file anything against "Lucid Group AZ", becuase they are not a manufacturer. Just a humble service organization.

The car is going back again anyways, their detailer burned the paint off a roof section with his buffer, and the door handles already don't work.

I would love to see the full explanation/justification for the original denial because it makes no sense that it was because of Lucid (manufacturing vs service) being two distinct legal entities.

Here in WI, Lemon Law only requires that repairs to a defective new vehicle be handled by the manufacturer or its authorized motor vehicle dealers (or manufacturer-authorized repair facilities). The responsibility of buyback still falls on the manufacturer.

This applies only to arbitration, a court would likely interpret it differently.

I had a thread about it but deleted it cuz I'm tired, boss
