I have been a fan of Lucid since before adopting that name, back when they raced sports cars in the desert with an EV converted Astrovan. Peter brought credibility to the brand in the best possible way and Emad Dlala brought the tech. I love Derek Jenkins' design sensibilities just as I appreciated his prior work, but it was the engineering and driving experience that truly separated Lucid. Peter and Emad are gone. Today's new CEO comes from outside the industry. As a cheerleader from the start I'm finding it hard to care where it all goes from here. There are so many great EVs and quality manufacturers.
I bought my AGT as a toy that promised usability, a stealth-ish reward for my retirement since it didn't really make sense for me to buy another track car. As of today I have been almost a month with no reply from the service center I contacted in every possible way. I honestly just now thought about calling a local scrap yard to haul my sub-20k mile AGT out of the way. The disrespect I felt from Tesla in 2018 led me to discover the other EV world, and on to a wonderful journey of discovery. Ever since I have been a bee in Tesla's bonnet online. FAFO
I had such high hopes for Lucid eventually succeeding. I made a bucket trading CCIV, and lost more than a little on LCID. Fair Play. No regrets, but given my current experience I only feel the need to apologize to those I have encouraged to buy the brand's vehicles. I only shared that referral code with one young relative, but even with the disclaimer I offered him I will offer to buy out his lease if the need arises. Cannot say how disappointed I am. I strongly suspect that PIF failed to understand the game they were joining and lacked the maturity to win at it.
