I know Rivian and others have a Conserve mode, but curious if anyone has heard of any rumors or ETAs on something like this for Gravity. I've researched the forums and didn't see anything definitive but having a specific mode where the vehicle just uses 1 motor (rear motor or front motor only) would help for long highway trips. I have several road trips planned this summer and fall and I've calculated a few instances where 20 extra miles would reduce 1 charging stop.

How do we make a formal feature request?

Both Gravity motors are permanent magnet motors and would have to be mechanically disconnected, Gravity does not have this. The motor inverter software is programmed to split varying torque and power between and rear and front motors to optimize efficiency depending on what the car is doing (cruising, accelerating, high speed, etc.).
 
It is generally running FWD in Smooth on the highway, but you can use the conserve mode in the Energy app and it limits power, HVAC and all sorts of stuff and tells you how much extra range to get. Lucid's motor design is so efficient they don't use/need a mechanical disconnect like Rivian has on the rear. If you turn on Conserve and drop speed 5-7mph you can easily get the 20 miles.
 
Thanks for the detailed explanations! Hopefully they are still optimizing smooth from all the data they collect so they can squeeze out a few more miles.
 
I'm not sure about Gravity, but I know the Air received a few optimizations early last year with regard to splitting power between front and rear motors in the most efficient manner and to cut down on motor noise in pre-2025 model years. So I think the answer to your request is Lucid already does this automatically via software and therefore doesn't require user interaction.

If you want to submit a feature request you can reach out to support. There's a software feedback email address floating around but I think that's intended more for bug reporting.

They did really bad by the way. I could have interpreted their data incorrectly. I get closer to 3.5 at 70mph. So if you want more range SLOW DOWN. :)
 
The EV60 has an "ECO" mode in which it disconnects the front motor once you reach aboiut 25 mph. Then only reengages it if you accelerate somewhat or immediately after a stop again only for a short while.
