Literally could not have had a better experience. I ended up increasing the limit to 90% and then 95% just so I could finish my damn burger, lol. But that also let me skip a charge stop.

I had just ordered and was like wtf why is it at 58% I haven’t even sat down yet lol

Plus, they’re adorable!

And the receipt for those who are curious. Because of the range and speed of charging of this car, I was able to skip two charging stops. Nuts.

Nice! I just wish there were more in SoCal. They have one just north of San Diego but that's equidistant between the I5 and I15 and not really convenient to either. For some reason they're building another one about a 10 min drive north of that one that's even a bit harder to get to. There's some coming soon to LA/Orange areas but nothing else near me yet.

So, about 10% to 80% in ~23 mins? 😎

I hope Lucid adds them and Rove to Plug & Charge soon.

Ha! I was just about to post about my Ionna experience -- while not quite as good as yours, this was the definitely the best non-Tesla charging experience and the most likely competitor if they're able to scale. The site we visited had 12 stalls (8 CCS, 4 NACS), good rates, and no idle fees. (Jonestown Rd, Winston-Salem, NC.)

We had a glitch with unit 6 (both ports) where charging would start and then immediately abort, so we moved to unit 5 which worked fine. We arrived with <1% SoC so no battery preconditioning, and maxed out at 340 kW. Was still charging at 70 kW with 90% SoC by the time we finished our BBQ.

More like this, please. No charging location should have fewer than 8 stalls.

Hit 3 different ones on our road trips last month and the experience was just flawless and super fast. I really want them to keep scaling as quickly as they have been and add plug and charge for Lucid!

What do they charge per kWh?

I imagine it varies, but my experience was 0.39/kWh with no idle fees.

Same price as ours. Much cheaper than Tesla (without the plan).

And, fwiw, we had to move at a Tesla station too - we were getting like 100kW, moved and got 230kW. 🤷‍♂️

That’s a good price - I pay 34-36 cents for my Tesla at superchargers so not much more at all, especially for that performance.

Same here which is even cheaper than Tesla with the subscription (most are 0.47/kWh in San Diego outside of the discounted late night hours).

I hadn't seen this thread yet but I emailed Ionna about this earlier this evening, hopefully encouraging more outreach to Lucid.

Big fan... however, I noticed at an Ionna station at a Wawa's in Ashland, Virginia, a few days ago that when a Rivian R1S parked next to me at the same charger and used the other port, I immediately dropped from 364 kW to 175 kW and was informed that the charging was limited by the station. Is that typical/have others experienced that?

Yes, it’s typical that charging is shared, even between adjacent stations, and sometimes between non-adjacent stations. It depends on the site and specific stations.

The etiquette is to skip stations and not charge next to someone if you have a choice.

Thanks. I'd been doing that myself as I figured that's what was going on. This is my first EV, and it seemed like the Rivian driver's as well. Is the typical best bet to park as far away from another charging vehicle as possible? In this circumstance, I actually unplugged from my station and moved over from the NACS station I was plugged into to the CCS station the next spot over, and was promptly at 300+ kW again.

Welcome to EV’s!

Usually, just skipping a station is sufficient. I tend to pick one out of the way to reduce the chance of someone picking one linked to mine.

Given Lucid already has the app setup to handle Tesla & Electrify America the hard work should technically be done and it's just a matter of working with Ionna to get it added. I believe Rivian recently added them to Plug and Charge. When I spoke to Rove last they said they currently don't support Plug and Charge but are working on it for their network at some point in the near future.
