My first week with my Gravity Dream Edition

Another update: I've worked out the seat folding procedure. While it'd be great to be able to do it with one hand, two seem to work best.
  1. Pull the long strap to drop the headrest and fold the seat forwards.
  2. Put the lower floor cover aside for a moment.
  3. Pull the big handle on the back of the seat up and a little back with the left hand while lifting upwards a bit. With the right hand, grab the base of the seat or the crossbeam just below it and pull that back at the same time. Seems to fold right up when you do that. Again, a clear image of someone actually doing it would improve the documentation.
I bet that’s in the works. For the Air they made a whole series of instructional videos on features so there’s probably something coming like that for Gravity.

Same here. I don't even think about power 'off' when I exit my Model X. As I walk away, if watching from a distance, it all goes dark. Unless 'dog' mode...then the puppy stays on the screen telling folks, everything is okay for the dog.
I know some people still love their Power buttons. But to me, this is one thing Tesla got very right and Lucid was right to copy.

The number of times I’ve sat down in other cars and wondered why the AC wasn’t already blowing cold air on me until I realize I need to hit “Start” first for no reason… it’s just never going to make sense to me.

The app is abysmally slow at waking the Gravity up. Air will be like 10 seconds. Gravity is at least 60+. Have no idea why.
This is my experience as well. When I get anywhere near my Gravity (with the key fob in my pocket) it now instantly and reliably wakes up and unlocks. Love it!

However, if I’m away from the car — let’s say I’m in my house getting ready to leave, and want to use the app to precondition the interior temperature of the car — it can take as much as two to three minutes to wake the car so it’ll even receive the command. I know that doesnt sound like a lot of time, but it feels like an eternity whilst I‘m watching the spinner next to “Waking up” go round and round (to ensure the command is received in the first place).

Totally!! Or the number of times I’ve been in an ICE rental car, and have parked and walked away without remembering to turn off the engine 😵‍💫 Have done that more times than I am comfortable admitting 🫣

That’s WAY too long and much longer than the Air, although I’d double check both the cellular (or wireless) signal quality in the Gravity and on your phone in the location you’re sending the command. I just timed it and my Air took 21 seconds to wake up from the app and it has poor signal in my garage and had disabled passive unlock because I was mowing the lawn passing near it repeatedly.

I've tested it with the cars parked next to each other. Gravity is at least 4x longer to wake up.

Configuration = me in my house with very strong / fast Wi-Fi, and Gravity in my garage where I purposefully installed a UniFi AC Pro access point a few years ago to better support software updates on my (then new) Model X Plaid. My home network isn’t the problem.

This is one thing my Tesla X does much better than our Rivian. X wakes almost immediately when I open the app. Even my “old” 2016 X does this, as well as our 2022.

R1S can take a minute or more and often fails the first time.

I am hopeful Lucid gets the Gravity to wake quicker. It’s a pet peeve of mine when preconditioning or wanting to check on my dog (pun intended).

I like start buttons and Lucid could add this as a software option by using an existing button on the steering.

I don't like that when I am on the phone and walk too close to the garage that my car picks up the call.
I don't like that when I go into the garage to get a soda that my car turns on and the lights and A/C start.

Make it an option then we are all happy. :)

I've turned off passive unlock for these reasons

Bluetooth has never worked well for me as a phone option in a Tesla, Mercedes, BMW or Rivian. People can never hear me. So I use AirPods. I do hate when my car still connects and picks up my phone as I need Bluetooth paired to my X to open doors…

iOS 26 will make a significant improvement on this front. It no longer auto-connects to the car’s audio system as soon as you get close to the car or open a door. It waits until you actually tap the brake or put the car into gear.

So just walking by the car won’t cause the audio to switch anymore.

Not sure if Android has a similar feature.
