Too Frustrating

If you want a reliable car from the get go , then do not take first year of any model of cars

All new models regardless of which brand they come with their own issues period

I prefer to get any model from 2nd or 3rd year where they worked out everything or at least all issues have been known and expectations are expected 🙃 no surprises

If you take gravity you MUST know what you are doing or leave it for someone who really wants one ;) they are in short supply like original sriracha sauce

To be fair, I was an early adopter of both the Model S and the Rivian R1T and the challenges I'm facing with my Gravity are an order of magnitude greater than my experiences with those vehicles. I also purchased a Land Rover Defender Launch Edition in early 2020 when it first arrived in the US and did not experience any of the types of challenges by Gravity is having. Simply saying that all early build models have issues doesn't align with my personal experiences.

Other than the keys not working right issue, I had far more issues from my 1st Gen Taycan. The key failure is critical, but the other items I've experienced are annoying but par for the course of new platforms. I've always been a bleeding edge tech guy and my last 4 vehicles have been as well and it is all to be expected, even when it absolutely sucks to get something like a 100k paper weight bc of an issue, but I knew what I was signing up for. Just like the other auto and tech makers, Lucid will improve or die off ( which I CERTAINLY believe the former). If some folks aren't prepared for that, it's totally OK, but this car and this life (I'm speaking to the OP here) is not for you. It's ok to take your money elsewhere and circle back in a few years maybe and take another look.

Where in any video or marketing material have you seen Lucid show the car self park itself into someone’s garage?

Have you contacted Lucid to have the car looked at? SiriusXM isn’t satellite radio in the traditional sense, it relies on internet connectivity. Do you live in an area with spotty cell coverage? Particularly AT&T
Why didn’t Lucid make it satellite? Isn’t that more reliable?

Who cares! It’s been that way since day 1 so if it’s such a big issue for people then don’t buy the car.

I've asked myself that question a dozen times. I've learned to deal with it, but it's the first car I've had problems with anything to do with sound. In fact, I'm resetting the car at least once a week just to get my radio and phone back working. Just today I got into my car and the phone and sound system didn't work. It's frustrating. I have had pretty good luck playing Sirius/XM from my phone app.

Here we go again... Remember 'Starting to regret getting this car...'? Seven tabs of responses to someone who was not even a verified owner.

Can't we limit our responses to people that we at least know actually posess the vehicle they're ranting about?

You may not care, but I’m guessing most people who spend 70K plus on a car expect the sound system on a car to be reliable.

Don’t twist it. They were specifically talking about internet being used over the XM antenna which has been beaten to death. While some people experience issues, many can attest in here that there’s nothing wrong with the sound system.

Okay, I’m a verified owner and although I love many things about the car, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I’ve had more headaches than any of the last 40 plus cars I’ve owned and it’s only been just over two months. I think a lot of us get sucked in because it is a beautiful car and it drives great.

I'm not twisting anything. The word "reliable" was mentioned in the sentence that you responded to by saying who cares. I just reacted to what I perceived as a pretty defensive and provocative comment. The OP mentioned in his first post that the satellite radio works half the time - it's part of the thread.

And I agree that the sound system seems to be fine for some, but for many others it isn't. It's an issue plain and simple. I had a loaner in the first few weeks of purchasing mine because the section of the display panel that controls audio went out. I had a loaner and didn't have any issues with the radio for a month so perhaps it's hit and miss.

Sound system refers to the whole package. Is it surreal sound pro, surreal sound, volume knob, radio, audio apps, Sirius specifically, volume level, individual speakers, USB, CarPlay or Bluetooth playback, or what exactly is the issue? I don’t use Sirius, and have had almost no problems with the “sound system”. The only issue I’ve noticed arise since the OTA before 2.8.0 is there seems to be a problem with the sync for the digital audio and the sound could rarely be choppy and glitchy, but a steering wheel reset has fixed it, I think I’ve had to do that 3-4 times in the last 3 months, which is more frequent than normal. While it’s mildly annoying I wouldn’t attribute it to Lucid having a bad sound system but rather a software bug to fix.

How is it that we live in a world where the OP buys a $100k car that they clearly did exactly zero research about and then joins this forum and makes their first post complaining about features that 10 minutes of research here would have clearly steered them in a different direction or prepared them by setting appropriate expectations?

If you can find this forum to complain, you sure could have found it to do some research and take personal responsibility when spending a pretty tidy sum on a new vehicle.

We really need to think about this…are these kinds of posts a reflection on Lucid or our society’s newfound willingness to completely shun any kind of personal responsibility?
