Hey everyone. I have owned 8 Teslas and found this inventory Lucid I put a deposit down on. I also have a deposit on a new 2025 Model X - trying to decide which one to get. I know this forum will skew toward this one, but just curious what downsides I might not be aware of leasing this guy. I see a lot of folks complaining about the return of the lease process. It's hard to believe another electric vehicle is better than a Tesla, but I seem to gather that from talking to a few Lucid owners. I know this post is awful and way too generic but made me feel better. 😂

The very first lease returns have just hit over the past few months. Hopefully that process will be ironed out over time.
As for your choice, take a test drive? We have no way of knowing which things are more important to you.

I think it depends on what is important to you. I had a Tesla and while the UI was cool the car was horrible. I hated driving it, I got rid of it in 15 months. There was nothing even close to luxury, imo. The drive was loud, the seats were not comfortable, the service was terrible. I don't care that the Lucid UI isn't what the Tesla one is, I care about loving the driving experience as I drive over 20k per year. I have had my '22 GT for almost 3 years and have loved every minute of driving it. So much so that I have a GGT on order without even test driving it. I agree with @segbrk, test drive it and see which is better at what is most important to you.

Yes, I drove my friends GT which is why I ordered it....it was amazing. Definitely wasn't as "ipad smooth" as the Tesla as far as the UX but the drive was great and I just can't get over the range, which I know, like Tesla, isn't 100% real but still...

the lucid is amazing but same as other replies, you need to decide what you value most. Looking at that spec, and I am not an expert on the dream drive packages, I'm pretty sure dream drive pro has the lidar and the premium does not. so if you want the most that lucid has to offer on drive assist, look for a car with dream drive pro (I think that's still true on the GT .. I have the AT). Of course, it's not what tesla offers but without the lidar on the dream drive pro, I don't think you'll get drive assist (auto lane keep with adaptive cruise control .. currently hands on the wheel, thought is they are working toward same but hands free but that's not official info or known date). highly recommend the surreal sound pro (SSP) as you have spec'd there already. also, the rear floor in the GT is about 2" shorter than in the touring due to the extra batteries .. just wanted to be sure you are aware in case that makes a difference. EDIT: I leased and am happy with that as I'm using it as an extended test drive. I'm 6 mos / 6k miles in and at this point have decided 90% that I will purchase it at end of lease. Great car despite software quirks, family and friends love the huge back seats, I really love driving it, and efficiency is pretty darn good, especially for such a large car. Turning radius is a bit big but that's ok. External cameras and that 360 surround camera view is excellent (although some complaints on the night camera view being noisy but I think it's totally fine).

I took delivery of my Lucid Touring 3 weeks ago. Before that I test drove Polestar, several Teslas, Cadillacs, and Volvo. Of all of these the only one that came close, in my opinion, to my Touring was a Tesla Mosel S. The model 3, model X and model Y did not reach the build, ride or luxury quality I was looking for. There are a few feratures that I found in the Model S that I wish the Lucid had but overall Lucid came out on top and I'm extremely happy with my decision.

The Air is better than Tesla at everything except ADAS and having detailed data available for you to nerd out over. And Lucid’s LiDAR means the acceleration and slowing while using ADAS is superior to Tesla. Tesla also wins at DC fast charging reliability but Gravity solves that problem by being able to charge on Tesla and charge faster than Tesla.

really appreciate the helpful replies - thank you all!! I am learning much.
