Guess I'm a KnuckleHead too! I've transported 4'x8' plywood and drywall in the back of my 1993 Explorer numerous times since 93! The back hatch is open and I get smogged with exhaust gas! In fact as I type this the frame I made 20 years ago to support drywall is back in the car because I'm going to pick up some plywood when I feel motivated.
So, along with my tandem bicycle fitting in back easily, that is one of my SUV EV desires.
I can tell you:
Rivian R1s yes, need frame to hold above wheel well, don't know about door.
Kia EV9 yes, no mods, don't know about door
Volvo EX90 no
Gravity ?? calculate that it might fit at an angle with some kind of frame, and still don't know about the door.
