Test drives?

Heading over to Irvine, CA to visit family the first week in May. I called the Costa Mesa Studio to arrange a test drive. They said they will have an Gravity 'asset' by the end of May.

I think Lucid will continue missing deliverables until all three mid-size models are released. We still have a long way to go. For now, it seems worth it in Lucid's case—but I’m not sure how long that balance will last.

If they can’t get one trim of a low volume car off the line how on earth are they going to deal with 3 mid-sized mass market models. They messed up the Air and now the Gravity so the odds aren’t looking good for a smooth run on future models.

I already booked and am so excited!! It looks like the same vehicles are being shipped to various locations; seeing the dates? My guess is they don’t have enough vehicles to permanently allocate to each studio yet. I hope they will get one in each studio to sit in, even if they don't permanently have one (yet) to test drive. I have been told that they are making floor space available in the Dallas studio, and I can't wait!!

Can folks help me troubleshoot? For those of you who received the test drive invite, from what email address did that invitation come? And for those with confirmations of the drive, can you also let me know what email address the confirmations came from? (I have two orders - 1x GGT and 1x GDE - I did not receive the invitation. I was able to register a time though by going to the website listed on here, and it confirmed my drive in the web browser, but I did not receive a confirmation email. I am concerned my emails are being rejected at the server level and not even getting to my spam box, so knowing what the email addresses are may help me get domains whitelisted as needed. The problem may not be on my end, but I'd like to rule out what I can.)

I do not have a Gravity order. I did receive an invitation as a current Air owner. I booked my test drive for Gravity on 5/24 (Northern Virginia location). Why not

I did not get the invitation, either. We own an Air Dream and have two Gravity Dreams on order, one of which was ordered within a couple of hours of orders opening up. Our Air was delivered out of West Palm Beach, so I called there yesterday to inquire about signing up for a test drive. They asked me to check my spam folder (which I did before I called) and said they would send me a link to sign up. I asked the salesperson if she could just assign me a spot while we were on the phone, but she said I needed to use the link. It still has not arrived.

Moreover, I had called West Palm Beach several weeks ago to ask if they would notify me when test drives became available. The sales rep said he was keeping a list of people to call and would put me on it. (Even though our Gravities are being delivered out of Miami, the two Miami showrooms are in dense downtown areas, and you'd eat up a 20-minute test drive turning out of the parking garage and circling a couple of blocks. West Palm is a lot less dense.) But the call I requested never came.

In my years of buying cars, I have found that you should never give your contact information to a car salesperson to whom you have expressed an interest in buying unless you want to be hounded incessantly. At least I can say Lucid is a breath of fresh air in that regard. You can beg to hear from a Lucid salesperson with assurance you'll never again be bothered.

At this point, I've just dropped the idea of driving several hours to get a 20-minute test drive. I've committed to buying the Gravities, anyway. Thank goodness Lucid's superb engineering and design can sell their cars. Their sales organization certainly can't.

I am sorry for your experience. My experience was very different, and that shows it is very people-dependent. Yes, some superheroes can provide a fantastic experience while another person drops the ball, like in this case. Instead of this being just people-dependent, Lucid needs to find a way to be more system-dependent. That is precisely how I approach work and the teams I lead. I am glad we have some superhero individuals, but I need the system to work. Hope Lucid will figure this out soon.

I got the email yesterday morning and booked it right away. In the afternoon, my SA texted me to let me know about it (I had already booked). The most pleasant and surprising experience was a text from an excellent local studio contact at the Plano studio. It was her day off, and she came to know about it and texted me with a link - around 10:00pm. I was pleasantly surprised by her initiative to reach out to me late on her day off. Amazing!

I assume if you back out of a DE you would be able to apply the deposit to another lucid vehicle
I assume you are correct, however the contract is not written as such, and my SA thinks it is non-transferable. That said, it would be a huge PR blunder if it is not.

I doubt it. When the Gravity Dream orders opened, I tried to convert the order I had already placed for a Grand Touring. I had to cancel that order and place a new order, and the Grand Touring deposit could not be applied to the Dream. I had to pay a second deposit and request a refund of the first deposit (which I received a few days later).

That is no longer the case. An SA can convert a GT order to DE.
