Have any had any incident where the inside security pin of the charging port deployed before plugging in the charger ?

I was trying to plug my car in my home charging today but the car won’t charge and it was showing cable connected and the charger was showing error sometimes and other times it is not doing anything

I troubleshooted from everywhere until I realized the charging cable is not going in fully

And I look into the charging port and I saw the security pin to hold the charging cable already deployed

It was loss so I pushed back in its original place

I am wondering what should I do if this happens again and the charging cable is stuck inside or when I go traveling the charging security pin deployed by itself

Is it broken? And that is why it was deployed

There is an emergency/physical release.inside the frunk right above the charge port.

Was the car locked? That pin is deployed when the car locks.

Yea I just found out that in the owners manual

I will check it out today when I get to the car for my own knowledge

So...just for laughs....thought I'd share this:

Took my Lucid Air home last weekend and had my charger installed today. After testing, I was unable to remove the charger from the port. I checked the owners manual and found the emergency release, but was unable to figure out why I couldn't remove it. So...I called customer care. After a reboot and several other things, he basically told me to go find a public charging station to see if it happens there....since he thinks it might be my charger.

Well....I then did what I should have done to start with. I checked with "our community" and within 60 seconds I found these postings suggesting the car needed to be unlocked to remove the charger from the port. HOW DOES CUSTOMER CARE NOT KNOW THIS? Anyway...went outside, unlocked the car and the charger came right out...😒😊

So...the moral of the story is...always check LUCIDOWNERS before calling customer care :)

Thanks everyone....

How did he propose that you drive to a public charging station if you can’t get your home charger out of the port? 🙄

🤣
I was able to use the "emergency release" under the Frunk to get the charger out of the port. Not exactly a permanent solution thought....
