Share charge between Lucid Air and Tesla?

Thanks for clarifying! It would be interesting to see if it works Gravity to Air and vice versa.

Share charge between Lucid Air and Tesla?

Ah, there it is! Apparently I'm blind and just wasn't seeing it. 🤦‍♂️ I think you should be able to use this to charge your Tesla from a wall plug, as well use with the J1772 RangeXchange adapter to charge the Tesla from your Air.

Is this what you're referring to? This just replaces the NEMA 14-50 plug to enable RangeXchange.

Also, you need to be sure you have the current the mobile charging kit to be able to use the RangeXchange feature. The kits included with 2022-2024 model year Airs are NOT V2V capable and you'll need to purchase the newer V2 mobile charging kit.

Share charge between Lucid Air and Tesla?

I *think* Gravity owners are just provided with a J1772 to NACS adapter for AC charging, a CCS to NACS adapter for DC charging, and the standard J1772 mobile charging kit. Hopefully a kind Gravity owner can chime in and maybe even try out their mobile charging kit + adapter to AC charge another...

Share charge between Lucid Air and Tesla?

I don't think there's a NACS equipped mobile charging kit available from Lucid yet. You can just stick a J1772 to NACS adapter on the current J1772 version and it works fine, though! If you dont already have a female-to-male J1772 to NACS adapter you should be able to get one easily from your...

Share charge between Lucid Air and Tesla?

If you plugged the NACS RangeXchange adapter into the Tesla and the other end of the mobile charging kit into the Lucid nothing at all should happen, since this would be asking the Tesla to provide energy to the Lucid, which the Tesla doesn't support. To do the opposite you'd need appropriate...

Share charge between Lucid Air and Tesla?

The RangeXchange is designed to interface with the donor Lucid vehicle. There's a J1772 version for Air and a NACS version for Gravity. As far as I'm aware you can't purchase a NACS equipped 40A mobile charging kit from Lucid, but maybe Gravity comes with one? In your case, you'd want the J1772...

Share charge between Lucid Air and Tesla?

If I'm understanding correctly, you're asking if you can use the Lucid NACS RangeXchange adapter to charge FROM the Air TO the Tesla. I doubt this will work, but if you had both male-to-female and female-to-male J1772 to NACS adapters it might. The RangeXchange adapter is supposed to interface...

    AC compressor failure

I'm really glad to see Lucid stepping up and taking ownership of this issue. Unfortunately, it looks this wasn't a completely isolated incident, and there may be more early Tourings that experience this same failure. If you notice a distinct degradation in AC or DCFC performance, I'd recommend...

    AC compressor failure

Same month and year I purchased mine! I fear this may become an emerging issue for early Touring builds. 😕

    AC compressor failure

Gotcha. My car's just a little bit newer than yours, then. The thermal issues sound exactly the same as what I was experiencing pre-HV battery replacement / AC compressor failure.

    AC compressor failure

Yeah, this sounds all too familiar, sadly...Definitely not normal. Which trim do you own?

    AC compressor failure

Hopefully they're able to help you out. I'm a bit skeptical that the AC and thermal management systems aren't really up to par for this car, but I still hope the compressor failure won't become a common issue. As long as it's not making bizarre noises or your charging speeds aren't half or less...
