That’s always been my assumption. I can think of no other reason to explain it.

I think the efficiency has definitely increased, but we should be careful to also factor in the warmer temperatures that many of us are now enjoying. That might result in an overly optimistic view of the actual efficiency increase.

It could well be my imagination, but it seems the front motor whine is either reduced in volume or the frequency is somewhat different. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this.
