I took my 2023 Lucid Air Pure AWD to a race track and here are my in depth comments

Exactly. Can't even imagine how fast I'd be able to go with a few hundred more hp. Or how long my braking zones would have to be 🤣

I took my 2023 Lucid Air Pure AWD to a race track and here are my in depth comments

First, this is going to be quite long so feel free to skim or jump to any section you're more interested in. Second, I've also taken my car to autocross and that post is here. Based on my research, it looks like only one other person has posted anything about taking an Air to a track...

Does the AC reduce motor output, similar to an ICE vehicle?

Thanks for the info! And genuine question: how do you know that stuff?

Does the AC reduce motor output, similar to an ICE vehicle?

I am just wondering if anybody has an idea if the AC decreases motor power similar to in an ICE vehicle. For example, in racecars (and other instances when full engine power is wanted) the driver will turn off the AC because it redirects power that would otherwise have gone to the wheels. Is the...

Any idea why the efficiency display is capped at 6.21 mi/kwh?

I'd like to think they thought at some points it'd be above 10km/kWh, considering how much they talk about being the most efficient haha. Definitely easy to hit that going downhill and I'm just curious to know how efficient it is going downhill. Always was fun seeing like 186.2 mpg going downhill.

Any idea why the efficiency display is capped at 6.21 mi/kwh?

I understand that 6.21 miles is 10 km but that just seems like a very low limit at which to cap the display. That's about 1.5x the EPA rating of this vehicle. It would just be interesting to see actual efficiency when going downhill and/or slowly.

After over a year of ownership, I still don't understand the entry/approach software of this car

Yea there's an official reply somewhere stating the car unlocking 10 times in a row without being opened triggers it. Then passive unlock is disabled for 4 hours. After that 4 hours, if the car is passively unlocked again without being opened, it triggers it again and passive unlock is again...

Adaptive Cruise - why does it require manual intervention from 0mph to resume driving in stop-and-go traffic

I'm glad you were able to do that. I would have to block a considerable chunk of the display for the sensor to see me. Not worth it to me

Just updated to UI7 two days ago on S24+ and no issues with remote key on my end (other than normal issues that were always present lol)

Anyone up for auto insurance rate comparisons?

Wow you all are paying up the wazoo for insurance. $384.01 for six months (so $768.02 annually). Geico, 300/300/100 with $750 deductibles, bundled with home and one other car. Both in our 30s, most expensive area in Iowa (which is still much cheaper than West coast, of course)

Recommended Touring mi/kWh to use with ABRP?

It asks for efficiency at 60 mph, right (or maybe 65)? So you'll want to use a number higher than 3.2. I think I actually use a number like 4.0 or 4.5 for my 2023 Pure which is similar to the Touring.
