It's just a couple of nuts, although one is in a plastic harness... I decided I didn't want to break that LOL

Here’s another perspective on that…. I’m not worried about the impact on the driving range from a subwoofer install on a car that motorizes its handles open, turns on the headlights, cranks on the HVAC, and turns on the radio every damn time I go into the garage, or walk by it in the driveway...

Oh, I was thinking you were talking acoustically. Not by any measurable means no way. Probably uses less than a seat massage session? Certainly isn’t the slightest concern for me.

I don’t think I understand the question. For what it’s worth I don’t have any acoustic testing gear.

For sure. Played loud the system vibrates the mirrors now.

Thank you much. For the speakers, I didn't use alligator clips, instead I stripped it quote long, and wrapped the copper wire around the speaker contact area. My old Bose (70's built) floor speakers were built like that. They didn't solder, they wound-wrapped them. So I thought that was good...

There’s no digging to do, the 12v is right there. I did this:

Parking Lights - why don’t they stay on when parked (off/away) as their purpose is?

Oh, I’m an oddball I’m sure in that I use them. Most folks don’t even tough their headlight switches. They will sit in their car with their headlights shining onto a restaurant patio and not care they are ruining a meal. Not my style, I tend to tread lightly. It’s not an England thing, it’s all...

No shit! That’s cool. I’ve been wanting to get into HA but I’ve been content with my Hubitat etc as is… that seems quite powerful. But also a bit involved for what I want to do here, which is just use parking lights (corner indicators) as I can on I’m pretty sure every single other car manufactured.

I wouldn’t leave them on overnight for sure, but to park a car in an underlit area for 5 minutes or two hours for dinner is very practical.

Parking Lights - why don’t they stay on when parked (off/away) as their purpose is?

The issue I have is that they don’t stay on with the car locked and off.

No, not one side. This post is talking bare minimum of the four corners being used. I wasn’t sure what “this” was when you said that and topic of this post. The left - right, functionally is pretty German specific.

All American made cars and Japanese cars, I’ve owned have them too. Granted, it’s been a while.

Indeed it’s law in some places. And practical, convenient, and safe in others. (And no, flashing hazard lights aren’t an ideal substitute. Very inelegant!)
