I have a Pure. Got a good deal on a lease last June. Car isn't perfect, but is by far the best car I've had. If little software glitches annoy you, you may not be happy, but it you want a car that handles and drives well, you will be happy. Plainview has been easy to deal with when I've needed them. I would jump while the 7500 credit on leasing still exists. If you buy off the lot there are other discounts. If you use my code you will get yet another discount.

I have a DE. I find myself often using one word when describing my experience to others: transformative! The utter rush of the instant acceleration and torque is intoxicating. The balance of luxury, performance (both vehicle and charging), and range is the perfect sweet spot for me.

For example, the i7 and the Taycan were on our radar when shopping for our first EV. However, neither of those admittedly wonderful vehicles matched the overall stats and attributes of my Dream.

The range is really what astounds me. Yes, take the EPA readings with a grain of salt because, unless spirited driving is completely out of the question, you'll struggle to get those numbers. Either way, for me, it's an excellent road trip vehicle since it literally has business-class legroom in the back. How many EVs can be described as that?

Having the confidence knowing that, when the situation calls for quick acceleration, I have a vehicle that's second to very few, and almost none in the ICE category, is empowering (I also did mention intoxicating, right? LOL).

Oh, and the one-pedal driving EVs offer is really cool once you get a hang of it. If you're smart about it, you'll rarely, if ever, use your actual brakes. Check something else delayed/eliminated in the overall maintenance department!

The technology is almost there. It definitely lags behind Tesla, for example, due to them having had a significant head start. But I'll definitely trust Lucid's upcoming FSD over Tesla's due to Lucid having incorporated LiDAR as well as cameras to track objects. Light is not necessary. Will I ever trust it 100%? Probably not, but it already has the smoothest adaptive cruise control I've ever experienced, so there's that!

One final thought: we are blessed to have an Expedition, an M440iX convertible, and our DE. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy all three, and they have their individual uses, but we always find ourselves fighting over who takes the Lucid because it really is that...transformative!

Upstate NY is the location. Air Touring 2023, 22,000 miles and countig. Just completed a 2,000 mi road trip with almost no hiccups.

Welcome! I can't imagine you see very many Lucid's in the wild upstate. I just picked my 24 Touring up on Saturday and my only complaint is that I'm not able to drive it all the time!

My wife and I were there. This is our 2024 LAT. We left before the Q&A however the rally was a blast!

Went to my car this morning and had no signal. No Sirius, no Map etc. only AM/FM radio. Did a logo reboot which did not help. Thought it may be an ATT problem but it didn't resolve. Since I was mid-island anyway, I stopped by Plainview Service Center. They got a tech to come out and fixed...

How did the tech fix it?

Idk. He asked for my key fob, got in the car while I chatted with the service rep. He then asked if he could drive it around the parking lot to test it. It has worked since then. I think they said something about a computer issue. Sorry I didn't get more info, so I could fix it if it happens again. My guess is he did the full reboot.

Maybe the turn signal reset? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Plainview is awesome and it was great to see Heather again at the rally yesterday. They really go above and beyond.

That is very cool @larrycpa . Did you go through the T&C's and if so, is it legal in New York?

@kellen0430 I read that there is nothing that prohibits it, but couldn't find anything allowing it. I assume that if I get pulled get for a real reason (DUI etc.) it would get added to the charges, so I won't do that. Otherwise it can be picked up by the cameras just like a metal plate. As of now NY doesn't have any hidden tech in the plates.
I've found the police in my area to be very forgiving if you are polite and older. One told me that my old EV is so quiet I probably didn't realize how fast I was going (65 in a 40). He asked if I liked the car and told me to keep it under 60 in the future.
So bottom line is I'm not expecting any trouble, but still have the plate if I need to get it installed.

A White Lucid w/ a glass roof was spotted by me driving my white Lucid w/ a metal roof on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook. This beauty was heading toward Valley Stream on Sunday 9/8 at around 10:30 am. I blinked and almost missed it :0).

@ kellen0430 Lucid doesn't do them, but my local service station did it while I waited. Actually I walked the dog around the block.

Recent drives in NJ that show some promise:
- 17A,
- Sawmill Road (aka rt406) near Highpoint Monument
- Deckertown Turnpike (aka rt650), was a ghost town yesterday

Anyone else finding some good spots? What I'm after is somewhat hilly/winding country roads.

Saw Mill Parkway North to Taconic State Parkway North (imho, the only thing Robert Moses ever did that was worthwhile) to Columbia County, NY

Palisades Parkway North of NYS Turnpike. Amazing with very few police as there are no shoulders.
