I remember reading somewhere about the total number of the Dream Edition cars considered for production, does anybody know more about that?

Originally there was to be a "Launch Edition" of 255 cars. I believe Lucid replaced that with the "Dream Edition" but opened up reservations to all takers. My guess is they are going to build as many as people who are willing to put down the higher deposits. However, Lucid is keeping the number of "Dream" reservations under wraps.

I don't believe there is a set limit. I'm sure they will sell as many as they can.

The video just released with Jenny Ha, head of Exterior Design, said there would be 500 Dream Editions built. This is the only time I've seen a hard number given.

I received the following email from Lucid Motors today regarding last chance to upgrade reservation to the Dream Edition. Maybe this means that Lucid is getting close to finalizing the Dream edition production plans.

We designed Lucid Air Dream Edition to celebrate the launch of our premiere EV. And now this limited production model is almost fully reserved. It’s the only Air available in the stunning Eureka Gold exterior and comes with lots of other exclusive features.

We don’t want you to miss out, so if you’re considering upgrading your reservation to Dream Edition, now is the time to make your move. Just sign into your Lucid account to review the options.

Lucid Air Dream Edition
Loaded with luxe
Lucid Air Dream Edition has a max horsepower of up to 1,080, can go from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, and hit a quarter-mile in under 10 seconds. Beyond performance, it also includes an exclusive Dream Edition interior theme, special badging, 21-inch Aero Dream forged alloy wheels, and the full range of upgrades, such as the Glass Canopy roof.

Hmmm . . . I wonder if this means Lucid lost some Dream Edition reservations over the production delay or for other reasons? (At least two forum members canceled their reservations some time ago, one when it became clear the larger battery pack put modules under the rear floorboard and the other for reasons I don't know.)

I got a call in late January from my sales advisor asking for the exact name and address to which I wanted my car registered. She said they were getting ready to do some preliminary registration paperwork for the sale title transfer and that they would shortly contact me to confirm my final color and option choices. That was the last I heard from them, and then the production delay was announced.

If there were still Dream Edition slots available back then -- when they thought they were that close to the start of production -- I wonder why they wouldn't have sent out this solicitation to upgrade at that point?

Maybe they do not have that many dream edition reservations. Just after the September reveal event, I received an email telling me that I would have limited time to upgrade to the Dream Edition. This is the first email that sounds like they are getting close to closing reservations for the Dream Edition.

I received another email from Lucid stating that the Dream Edition is sold out:

We're all out of the Dream Edition.
That was fast. The limited run of Lucid Air Dream Edition is now fully booked. This exclusive design was created to celebrate the launch of Lucid Air.
