I hope that’s not the production rear end of the Cosmos. The light up brand name in the taillight, that’s extremely tacky. Come on Lucid, that’s Audi crap.

I’m sure it is, details leaked a while ago and is consistent with this. I think it looks cool. I don’t like the half blocked rear window tho.

Lucid styling is killer. Just the other night, I saw a Gravity driving towards me on two lane road. I've never seen a Gravity at night, coming towards me. I knew it was a Lucid based on the light placement, but even I was in awe of the way the car's lights looked at night while moving. It was beautiful.

I mean, I've seen my car light up when I approach it at night, but seeing it in motion on the road, among other cars, my jaw dropped. It stands out by a huge margin.

Luxury brands are lighting up their logos in the front, might as well do the back.

I think Lexus is one of the first to slap the name of the brand on the back instead of just a logo. I'm sure we'll see more car makers follow suit just like how a lot are doing light bars front and back now. I hope it's not like the GLC rear lights where the lights are embedded in a giant slab of piano black plastic. One reviewer already noticed a bunch of scratches there their press car after a few thousand KM.

The headlights/DRLs of (presumably) the Cosmos look like eyelashes to me. Don't remember if the Cosmos is running a split lighting setup but I hope there are some matrix light modules hidden somewhere in there.

Still can't help but be worried that the heavily raked tailgate will turn off more buyers than Lucid expects.

Tesla has done this for at least two year (put the name in lettering on the back as opposed to the stylized T logo).

This is what the Cosmos' rear reminds me of. At least on the Air & Gravity, the letters are small and tasteful.

Then again, given that no one knows what the heck a "Lucid" is, maybe they need a rolling billboard.
 
To me, it's clearly an advertising strategy and I am willing to bet that it was decided on after Silvio took over as CEO.

I meant among luxury brands, Lexus was the first to slap their name on the back in recent years. But sure, the actual brand name across the back has been done throughout the years trending up and down like light bars have come in and out of style over the decades.

We'll probably see brands doing it more and more for a while then go back to "understated" looks in 2040.
 
Automakers kind of have to highlight and emphasize their name/logo now that manufacturing processes have gotten cheap enough that any budget brand can easily emulate design queues (*ahem* Hyundai).

It must of been my Gravity you saw coming towards you.
 
I think this is Lucid’s best ad to date. They’ve been building better ads of late but this one positions an actual brand identity to Lucid, catering to the right market for Gravity and for Cosmos - a family buying a luxury vehicle.

Looking forward to seeing more of this.
