Lucid Grand Touring 2022
Driving today suddenly got a right pillar camera failure. A few hours later, adaptive cruise control stops working. Logo reset doesn't clear either.

2022 Grand turning. Tried to get a service appointment months ago and never heard anything from service... WTF?

Your car is out of warranty (except for battery/powertrain). Do you have extended warranty?

I've experienced significant issues with Lucid Service's responsiveness. Unlike BMW, where calls are answered promptly, Lucid's service center uses an automated system promising a 24-hour callback, which I never receive. This is particularly frustrating when I observe employees at the service center appearing disengaged. While I appreciate the car itself, the lack of service quality is inconsistent with a $150,000 vehicle and a high-end dealership experience.

You seem to be implying that the only way to have the car serviced is under warranty. I don't believe that is the case...
NI am not implying that. You just have to pay out-of-pocket.

I recently went through this. I got an alert that my left mirror camera was blocked. I checked, and there was nothing on the lens, but I got only a solid white image from that camera in the turn signal camera or parking assist. I thought it might clear itself with a reboot or overnight deep sleep, so ignored it a few days, but the camera never worked again. I tried both calling and emailing Customer Service and never got a response. It was a minor annoyance for a few weeks, until we took a road trip and I discovered that not only would hands-free driving assist fail to start, it wouldn't even do cruise control with a sensor offline. I finally called our service center (Natick Mass) where it took 24 hours, but I did get a callback. And finally went through the questions "have you tried rebooting?", "let the car go to sleep", "is there mud on the camera?" all of which I had tried already. So they booked an appointment for six weeks later, their next opening. He didn't know if it would be a trivial problem (loose cable, out of alignment) or more involved, so I agreed I would wait there an hour or two until they did the diagnosis, and then either it would be fixed or I would get a loaner.

I had now been living with the problem for over 2 months. And living in the city, I frequently dealt with tight parking and discovered I had come to rely on those cameras. When the service center looked at it, they quickly discovered that the model & serial number of the camera was in a service bulletin and needed replacement. When I first tried talking to Customer Service I had hoped that they could remotely figure out this sort of thing. The replacement and calibration needed all day so they sent me away with a loaner.

Note that this was the second replacement of this camera. I got my Air GT in summer of '22, had a camera replaced by mobile service after only a month or two, and about a year later had all of the cameras replaced. At least Lucid covered this one under warranty even though my car is over 4 years old.

So tell us about parking assist. There isn’t much feedback here about how well it works, any situation where it struggles, where it’s awesome, etc.

I don't use parking assist. Well, I tried it once and it didn't do a great job, but that was years ago and I hear the software has improved. But I use the "overhead" camera view to assist my manual parking.

I used it quite a bit for perpendicular parking while learning all the systems when I first got the car. They later upgraded parallel parking to avoid curb rash but I haven't tried it since. My last attempt to use Park Assist failed, it wasn't finding spots that it might've in the past (ie, spare spots between vehicles).

I will give it another whirl next time I'm in a relatively crowded lot and see which spots it's able to detect as being available (you have to drive slowly by the spots by a small margin, then it retroactively shows the spots which are available. You hold the brake, click the spot on screen, release the brake and off it goes). Spot detection takes place not only in the dedicated park assist mode, but also while in the top/down surround view. It'll generally ping you to say spots are available if it finds them, at which point you can swap to the park assist mode and see what it's talking about.

Cool, nice overview
I haven’t had the courage to give it a try yet
