Destroyed tire and rim. What to do now????

You're right. Stupid AI is wrong more often that right.
In addition to what's been mentioned, you should have a torque wrench set to 150 N-m (verify with the manual on this number) and tighten the lugs in a star-fashion.
Recheck the lugs after a short drive.

Thanks so much. I called them, but they won't just take the bad one off and put the new one on for me where the car is. They'll only tow it to a local mechanic. That's too involved for me, and my mechanic isn't open on the weekends (tomorrow's Saturday). Since I'm not on the side of the road, and it's in my driveway, I think I'll just use a floor jack and a puck to switch them myself.
You can try to do it yourself if you have the jack, just make sure you have the right pucks and/or jack point.

Or you can have it towed to Discount Tire who are open on Saturdays

We have a chain called Mavis Discount Tire. Is that the one to which you are referring?
No, I don't believe they are the same company. I would assume that Mavis could also change your tire, unless they've decided they don't want to work on EVs. You'd have to ask them.
