Lucid Air Cupholder NHTSA Complaint

Lol.. elephant in the car maybe. Lucid could have made narrow seats and sold a treadmill with it. It is a performance car, for responsible fit people...
The car gives drowsy driver warning (a cup of coffee symbol) and asks you to go to get coffee and navigates you to it. Then you buy the coffee, but can't hold it anywhere. Amazing design. And they do call something 'Hands - free drive assist'.
Cup holders are fine, it fits any Starbucks coffee, it’s your mug that is out of place. Stop blaming the car for everything.

My wife put her Tall latte cup in the cup holder and when she tried to get it out, it was so tight that the top came off. She doesn't like them. Myself, I bought a 16 oz and a 20 oz. Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug. It fits snugly and the coffee stays hot for hours, which is amazing. The 20 oz holds a Starbucks Vente Latte with no foam.

There is technique to get the cup out, twist back and forth and lift up gently. I love them/ the cup never moves so never get spills!

When someone has to learn a technique to get the cup out of the holder, then there is a problem. Do you offer a class on the 'correct' technique?

I have owned a Gravity GT for more than one year and have never had an issue with the cup holders. I like their snug fit given the power of the car every thing within the cup stays where it should!

Same experience here, but I believe the Air's are narrow in comparison

How many of you realized it actually has 3 slots? The middle one is even smaller.
Just because you pointed that out, you truly can use the center cup holder. Lots of options.

You learned how to do it the first time you ever saw a cup holder. You just don’t remember learning it.

Once upon a time, you also learned how to walk.

We don’t always consciously remember the things we’ve learned, and sometimes our learnings need to adapt, like walking on terrain that is new to us.

Adapt. That’s what humans do best.

How is this thread still active?! Seven pages of this?

Let me summarize. Some people don't like the cupholders. Others think they're just fine. 😂🤣

Yeah but consider that this is cheap entertainment

If learning new ways to do things isn’t in your wheelhouse, owning a Lucid will be a very, very frustrating experience. Adapting to the cup holders is probably one of the easiest transitions you’ll make with the car.

My greatest challenge with my new to me AGT is getting in my garage without scraping the bottom. Waiting on some of those rubber curb ramps. The Polestar 2 is just high enough to clear. I have yet to transport any food or drinks. 😏

Correction
Easiest transition for any car, period

You should certainly start and academy to teach these skills. It will be a very big help for people like me

I suspect it would be a relatively small academy and wouldn’t make much financial sense.
