Stock Momentum

Strategy- increases the number and distribution of service centers and you will have sales……duh

The fact that Rawlinson and Winteroff couldn’t understand this blows my mind. Lucid has less than 40 in US, Rivian has almost 100. No wonder they sell more.

And add to that Winteroff goes and cuts service…..I’m speechless he got to the position of COO and interim CEO…….

And their analyst comes out trashing Lucid….it wasn’t as bad he says…and he gives a 3.5 price target….im telling you, these analysts and Wall Street are crooks!

Yeah, it’s a racket.

Analysts make recommendations and investing decisions based on the underlying fundamentals of a company and confidence in management to deliver results. They are not infallible but they also don’t make investing decisions based on vibes. Based on the most recent investor call, and subsequent production and delivery numbers, it would be perfectly reasonable for an institutional investor to reassess their position in Lucid and articulate their reasons for doing so. An institutional investor has a responsibility to be rationale and protect their financial interests. There’s nothing inherently crooked about that.

I’m sure it’s not entirely based on fundamentals…..like the price targets they have on TSLA and SPCX

Wall Street made record profits this year- 90 billion, huge bonuses coming for them…they IPO at ridiculous numbers , the higher, the more money for them.

Yes, it’s sort of a racket!

But there’s a rationale being used. Investors can decide if they agree or disagree. But there are certain truisms. Profits and sales matter. And Lucid only has one of those and even those aren’t optimal. Analysts were expecting two things to occur this quarter. Deliveries would hit targets and progress would be made on taking cost out of the business. At least one of those two things didn’t happen. And investors will react accordingly.

Agreed. I don't see Lucid's narrative meaningfully changing until they're delivering 10k+ units per quarter and they achieve a gross profit.

Both are true, Wall Street manipulates and Lucid helped them by digging their own hole.

Between Q1 2025 and Q2 2026, Winteroff and co spent more than 6 billion dollars, X4 the market cap of Lucid. What a horrible way to run a company.

It’s a vicious circle, stock drops, poor sales, stock drops, poorer sales….how do you break the cycle? Hopefully Napoli can figure it out…..but man, did Rawlinson and Winteroff do a number on Lucid……you can’t expect a worse pair of CEO/COO…….

Poor sales don't follow a stock drop. Stock drops follow poor sales. It's a sobering reality when the CEO admits that the only way to keep a car company going is to produce fewer cars. Whether it's stock or automobiles there just aren't enough buyers interested in what Lucid is selling.

Not to mention the company is losing key engineers left and right. I see farewell Lucid posts from former employees on LinkedIn far more than joining the company as of late.

Considering most companies with the exception of the Toyota/Subaru/Lexus new platform and Rivian are down big double digits, Lucid is at least flat. Imagine being VW group having to cut 1MM capacity and 100K jobs and having unlimited debt burden...

Well, one should understand the various motivations that investment banks have. Those motivations sometimes (but not always) motivate them to distribute highly biased analysis. It got so egregious during the dot-com bubble that the feds enacted some pretty strong reforms. Some of which have been rolled back during the Trump administration, leading to a particularly high profile recent event where people question the motivations of investment banks.

Personally, I think investment analysis is interesting food for thought, but anyone who accepts it uncritically Is a fool waiting to be parted from their money. In the case of Lucid, Wall Street is entirely predictable in being disappointed with recent news. But even dispassionate investment analysis in wrong more often than it's right, leading to active investment management underperformed more mechanical strategies.

Lucid is flat 😱 its down 70% ytd and 85% in 1 year. Not sure where in the world this is called staying flat.

Anyone else worried about AMP-2 becoming a target for the Houthis?

How many sales did Lucid lose from recent unsubstantiated bankruptcy rumors? At least a couple of hundred. How many say ….I'm not buying from a company that may not exist in a few years…. Another couple of hundred. We just got 500 more sales this quarter.

Winteroff cutting service also did a lot of harm.

Lucid fired them…..remember they cut a lot of white collar jobs in Q1 when Wintetoff was in charge.

Unless the company substantiated this through cancelled orders it’s purely speculative. Of course rumors have an impact on the company. But the circumstances that give rise to those rumors are largely self-inflicted. Telling customers that you have enough money to get you into the next year isn’t exactly reassuring and will invite questions about your financial future.

And when your primary investors are earmarking money for new manufacturing facilities and robotaxis, the current business will suffer. The notion that Winterhoff alone unilaterally cut service is also speculative. Lucid has negative op earnings and its funding sources have their own priorities when it comes to how their investment dollars are spent.
