Pre-owned Air Touring purchasing option question

Another way to take it is that original owner feared that he was unable to control the immense power of the Air and felt that driving such a powerful beast may inevitably lead to an unhappy accident. I can see that. The Air naturally wants to go fast and it takes some restraint and finesse to keep her within reasonable speed.
That's exactly how the owner of the dealership, and friend of the Air owner, described it to me.....way too much power and he was scared to drive it for fear of losing control and getting in a wreck! Also overwhelmed with all the screens/technology. Too bad he didn't figure that out on a test drive rather than in the first 30 days of ownership....could have saved himself about $30k!

I believe Mr Bean smashed his super car twice and came to the same conclusion

Hey everyone,

I'm taking delivery of a pre-owned AGT on Monday. Are there any important features I will miss out on while awaiting Customer Care's activation of my account or is it just app access, profiles, and the like?

When I did it took a couple of days but I did call and expedite

Bought a used 2023 Air Touring last December. I purchased through Lucid with the Lucid CPO program. I probably spent a few thousand more than I could of but was willing to pay for a bit of added security with the CPO program.

Very happy with the car. I highly recommend you hold out for a used Touring with both Surreal Sound Pro and Dream Drive Pro. These features are essential and are their cost does not seem to be reflected in used car pricing.

You make a good point. The biggest headache is figuring out the options if you don't buy from Lucid. Most used car dealers buy these cars at auction and know very little about Lucid's packages. Many can't even tell Surreal Sound from Surreal Sound Pro, and their listings are often inaccurate. Finding a Touring with DDPro, SSPro and leather isn't easy, but if you find one on the used market these costly original options don't seem to add much to market resale prices.

My general conclusion from shopping used Lucid options is that Lucid's non-certified used cars are priced a bit higher than comparable cars at independent dealers---and Lucid's CPO cars seem to carry another $3K premium over its own non-certified cars. Of course, I can certainly understand paying that premium for the additional warranty and Lucid's certification. It really comes down to how much that extra peace of mind is worth to you.

I think the markup is well above $3k now compared to similar used dealership options.

I find it curious that very few of the pre-owned vehicles sold by Lucid are CPO. Of the 54 that are currently available only 6 are designated CPO. And some of the non-CPO vehicles have less than 5K miles on them while there are CPO vehicles with over 20K. Since the biggest value of a CPO is the extended warranty you would expect that designation to be used on more vehicles. It’s almost as if they don’t want to provide the additional warranty.

I have been watching Classic.com, and that seems to be a good place to find used Lucids. My biggest problem is figuring out what options the car has. The Lucid website is great..... but that comes at a premium. Any ideas, or better places to look for a used Lucid? THANKS

Indeed. Then chose the option to change ownership I think it was.

Thanks.

I emailed my docs last night and called them this afternoon to confirm it was everything they needed. The lady transferred ownership while I waited. Excellent customer service.

If you have a VIN you can contact Lucid customer care and they should be able to tell you how the car was originally equipped. I followed that process last year when I bought my Air. As you've experienced, most dealers have no clue.

The best source I've found for locating used vehicles is Auto Tempest. They aggregate used car sales from across multiple platforms (Cars.com, Carvana, Car Gurus, etc.).
