Lucid Houston Service center has had my gravity for 60 days without 1 scrap of information

Took delivery in Dallas in March, GGT fully loaded, vehicle was great until August when my dash lit up with warnings and told me to call Lucid. Customer Services said, we can tell already this need to go to Houston for service we are sending a tow truck. Got a call from Houston that said we have your vehicle, contact enterprise for a loaner on August 9th. That is the last time anyone has talked to me about my gravity, I've called repeatedly, tried email and text, not usable, and get the same story. "I am horrified, I am escalating, someone will contact you." I don't even bother to call any more. My car has not moved 1 inch, the cameras still work so I can see it sitting day after day. I am in the contact center industry and coincidentally met a Lucid IT staff member who took my info and was outraged, I didn't share my story initially, he sort of asked me how it's going if I had it at the show etc, and eventually told him what was going on. He knew people, was going to get someone to call me. Nope.

Wanted to be a fan, but pretty big cautionary tale.

The Internet is filled with "ghosting" service issues at Lucid. Houston office is slowed the workload and service area they covered. However, the Dallas service center should have opened this week. Keep trying to contact them and eventually someone will reach out to you. But outside of saying the our ride is done, there's really no reason to talk to them as you have a rental car which they're paying for your use. I know it's frustrating and I've lost almost two and a half months of vehicle time dealing with the Houston service center. But once Dallas opens up it should be better for everyone who has a vehicle in this region.

I would have started the lemon law process already with an attorney - that is insane.

This is ridiculous and there's no excuse for it.

Inexcusable!

As soon as they told me “45-60 days” I submitted the buyback request. I’m happy to just move to a new Gravity, but I won’t play this game. I’m paying for a vehicle, I want an operable version of that vehicle. Not a Jeep. If I wanted a Jeep I would have bought one. Simple.

(Don’t ever buy a Jeep. We’ve had two. Total POS) 😂

Welcome to the Houston service center. The worst Lucid service center in the country. Love my Gravity but if things don’t change significantly at Houston SC, I will probably move on from Lucid when my lease ends. Yes, adding Dallas SC should help things but I think there are significant personnel issues at the Houston SC.

I talked to an atty, in Texas if they give you a loaner, they can pretty much keep it forever.
Try another attorney. When I had my Land Rover issues, the one I spoke to told me I had no case. I pursued it solo and they took the vehicle back no problem.

Good news is they'll eventually give it back, working...Keep rattling the cage, not sure what number you're texting, but if you DM me I'll give you one which I know worked as of a month ago to try...

I know It sucks, but it's one of the reasons why Lucid struggles as a company which has been well documented on many forum threads...

What is so frustrating to me is how little it would take to make me happy. I want Lucid to succeed. I work in the contact center industry, you can very easily send an automated message that says, "we are so sorry, we are doing everything we can get your car back to you as soon as possible" but they can't even be bothered to do that. Feels like not even trying. I am not even certain they realize my car is still there.

I just got my Air back from Houston. They had it for 43 days, but the service advisors I worked with (Irving and Victoria) were responsive and helpful when I contacted them.

Yep, they take a beating from customers (no fault of their own btw), but it's the way it is due to Lucid's lack of service options in the region the Houston office covers.

Ouch. What was wrong with it?
Parking Brake failure was the main issue. I also had them inspect the front suspension because of a nasty pothole hit I had, and had them do an alignment (a bit overpriced, but I didn't want the hassle of doing it elsewhere) and the 24k mile service.

Most of the time was spent waiting for a technician to be available. Once they actually got the car to a technician, it was finished by the end of the next day.

I’ve mentioned this before but I was without mine for 7-8 weeks over two visits. The first time was radio silence for three weeks because the supervisor I was assigned was laid off a few days after I dropped it off. Unknowingly, I was sending inquiry texts about the car’s status into the void of a disabled phone.

And this reminds me of how EV advocates tend to scream, “but there’s no servicing needed with these electric vehicles!” Drives me crazy because that’s simply not true. It’s a car with many mechanical parts, not a mobile phone.

You are correct, anybody who says it needs no service is lying.

But almost every piece of the car that might break, is a piece that also exists a gas car. The main difference is that there are several significantly complex failure points of a gas car that do not exist in an EV, so in theory, in general, EVs as a whole should require less break/fix servicing than a gas car.

Someone must read these boards because I just finally got a call. So thank you whoever you are that took pity on me. Unfortunately, my car has not even been diagnosed yet, but they plan to do that tomorrow. Normally they diagnose first, order your parts and then when they are ready to work on it, your parts are there. Mine slipped through the cracks. Ideally, it won't take another 2 months for parts. Manager told me they plan to add a second shift in Houston and that Dallas will be opening in November.
