UX 3.0 Feature Wishlists

Incorrect, it was there in v1 of the sw... I used it heavily, and it changed and tracked the value in the "trip" screen, as opposed to being a static EPA estimate...
Yes the efficiency was on the left cockpit panel early on. It sometimes did not agree with what the trip information page was showing. I think this is the reason that it was removed and may be an example of the communication difficulty.

I got my Air in 2022. It never had dynamic range calculations. You are misremembering.
I described a mi/kw number, running in real time... I know that it was there and recall my reaction when it was removed for v2.

It’s crazy to me that the car can tell me a range that is a total fabrication and there’s no way to fix it??? Right now I have “289 miles” of range but it’s really only going to be 200.

On the new interface it certainly can change the percentage to miles remaining (EPA range) on the main display. It seems impossible to me it can’t show dynamic.

Note, this is January 2023. And Bobby isn't saying "Bring back a true estimated range based on current driving conditions." He's asking that they add it, because it was never there.

And Neil was complaining it was not accurate in posts even earlier than that. Because it never was.

Again, I have no idea whether or not their claims that it's not possible are true. I do know that Lucid has replaced most of their Software team more than once, and no one in any of those iterations has ever said this was possible. Someone above even said as late as a few weeks ago, they were told at the headquarters event it can't be done yet again by the current team.

They shipped it on Gravity (though I still don't quite know how it is calculated, given it seems to disagree with the current trip estimate in the pilot panel) so it's not a company policy to hide this from owners.

I think it's worth considering that they aren't kidding when they say the wiring makes this unfeasible.

I agree, it's nuts.

But in order to calculate dynamic range, you need to know what the efficiency was for the past ten miles, or minutes, or whatever you want to use to determine what "current" is.

The issue seems to be that the computer that drives that screen can't be handed that info from the computer that drives the pilot panel.

In reflection, that does more closely match my memory (i.e. not matching the trip info), but I also recall it not being a static number, perhaps a time average over the past minute or so (not as instantaneous as the graphic around/below the speed indicator, but not as long term as the trip screen #s). I found it VERY useful for keeping me from driving to aggressively (which this car does otherwise make oh so easy).

There is a big difference between reporting what the past (SLC or trip) values are versus what the future (battery charge to 0%) might be... the car just can't know how you will drive (as opposed to how you have been driving).

Nor was I asking for a prediction of the future, rather just a retrospective of the past... which was there in v1 (though I now concur that it likely was not the trip or SLC number, but rather a time average of recent usage more in line with the instantaneous usage graphic which is still present).

I'm here to second this one. I appreciate most everything I've encountered about the update so far, but the brighter, milkier, lower-contrast displays are a significant downgrade in my opinion. Harder to read, distracting at night, and just aesthetically unpleasant. Unless there's some arcane science about eyestrain or something being brought to bear here.
  • The ability to further dim the new "Lucid vibes" similar to how they were on 2.10 - the current options are much brighter with more color gradient on the top screens, would love to be able to dial that back.

I would love to have the ability to turn on parking view and ability to fold mirrors on the main screen without needing to go to another screen. These are my commonly used feature every day.

I mean, if that's the case, then fine... put it on one of the other screens? Make it a card on the right side of the cockpit, or put it as a menu option in the pilot panel.

But I mean, honestly, every single car I've driven since 2000 has been able to say "this is how much gas/charge you have left, this is your average efficiency, therefore this is your estimated range" and I refuse to believe this $100,000 computer on wheels can't pull that off.

Maybe they don’t want to. They sold on Range! Range! Then it turns out there’s a lot of asterisks to those numbers.

We've got a few threads going as to what the new updates are, but thought it would be good to have one place to put what we'd reasonably like to see added to those once we've driven with it for a bit. Reasonably is the key word here: multiple people have been told Halo view isn't in the cards, nor is Level 3 self-driving, so asking for that isn't the move.

Per the folks who went to the early access event in Newark, the reason this is 2.11 is that these changes are largely cosmetic - getting the current Air code into the more modern Gravity-esque UX 3.0 layout, with some of the Gravity's features being added in time. Which is great - but why not GO FURTHER, as they say?

From my end, I'd love to see:
  • Dynamic range and/or trip efficiency on the center screen. Gravity has the former, seems like an easy add.

  • Multiple seat memories for each profile. I'd love to have the ability to recall a different seat position for myself without having to save over my usual one.

  • The ability to further dim the new "Lucid vibes" similar to how they were on 2.10 - the current options are much brighter with more color gradient on the top screens, would love to be able to dial that back.

  • While we're at it, why not add an all-black "vibe" for the main screens for minimally distracting night driving?

  • Ability to add one or two more "quick select" slots on the bottom screen.

  • Another couple bands on the EQ - the system sounds great, but I know how to make it sound even better, just need the option

  • A "message center" for alerts - we're still seeing alerts pop up and then go away immediately, leaving nothing but the orange triangle. Is it that a camera is dirty, or do you have no rear taillights - if you miss or accidentally click away from that initial notification, there doesn't seem to be any way to find out, which is kind of silly especially given how helpful and descriptive the alerts themselves are.
This is a fantastic update, and now there's a great base to improve upon. What would you like to see?
Totaly agree with your suggestions but I will put the "Dim Lucid Vibes" one on top with simply saying give me back my black background screen cause now it is very annoying while driving at night.
Secondly I already suggest a year ago about a "Message Center" in the completely empty "About" page, and still believe it is an important one. They now put a picture of the model with vin to "fill the page" but it still have a lot of spaces.
As a third one, for all of us not living in a desertic climat region, I will very appreciate having a way the adjust the speed of intermittent wiper. Like holding wiper "Auto Low" button or anywhere on the wiper fonction rectangular space, let say 1 sec1/2 to pop up (momentarily) a slider band that we will move with the volume control.
The remaining will be nice to have, for me.
And yes this is a fantastic update that I truly appreciate.

Please, please, please send this request to swfeedback@lucidmotors.com. I have.

I sent an email to the swfeedback email complaining about this. I want my black background back!!

I also liked it and hope they bring the efficiency since last charge or the trip efficiency of better the dynamic range like Gravity.
