Lucid Air Pure 2025
Had a weird experience yesterday. I have a Lucid Air Pure RWD. Had it for maybe a year and a half. It has the factory all season tires. I was driving home up one of the steeper hills in our neighborhood yesterday and the road was wet but it was not actively raining. Had to pause while climbing the hill because a car in front stopped. When I tried to accelerate, car started spinning it's wheeels embarassingly badly like road was covered in ice. Tires should have been fine. Did my car's computer just lose traction control ? Was it the tires ? Was it being in Swift mode ? So weird.

Thanks,
Dean

As I recall, swift mode warns you that you shouldn't use it with the AS tires...

Evidence? I believe this is completely false. Swift mode may *enable* you to turn off traction control, but I do not believe it just does it when selecting swift mode.
Woah easy there sport

I think it says that doesn’t it? It’s a boat load of torque.

You said “swift mode disables most traction control”. That’s false, correct? It enables you to subsequently disable traction mode if desired. So what you said is wrong and misleading. Just being in swift mode, as you *stated* does not. If I’m wrong, please correct me.

Got it, thanks. Was so embarassing with cars behind me.
Wait I was thinking “Sprint” mode, which does something with stability control but the manual doesn’t specify what.

Anyways, you got a ton of torque through RWD on wet surface full chooch and yeah it can definitely burn out!

Yeah manual isn't specific on what changes in Swift and Sprint mode but my takeaway is Smooth is the default for a reason. :-)

Of course you can't just respond, you have to use a picture that you have used numerous times now to deflect from the fact that you, again (how many times has Boski - for one - corrected you?), posted either false (in this case) or misleading info. That pic however does adequately convey my impression of almost all of you posts.

You should have left your original second reply intact which read "Guilty, your honor." before editing it and replacing it with a pic since it's obvious you can't own up to what you say.

Just wanted to clarify some of the info here.

Swift and Sprint adjust throttle response, steering wheel turn ratio, available horsepower, and the electronic suspension adaptors. Neither of them limit any of the available traction control, nor do they turn off any of the safety features of DreamDrive.

A GT and GT-P loses traction on a wet road, summer tires or otherwise, in any mode given hard enough acceleration. A slope would make matters even worse. Usually, you will feel the traction control kick in to slow down the affected tires to improve traction.

However, the system cannot guarantee traction. It only does its best to keep it. At some point, you have to ease off on the accelerator if traction isn't being restored. Too much throttle for the conditions.
