Available Vehicles Filter Changed 2026-09-19; Inventory Visibility Now Restricted by Zip Code & Unknown Proximity

For several weeks, I have been obsessively tracking 2026 Air inventory. As recent as earlier today (US Eastern Time), I was able to specify "Any miles" in order to see what I presumed to be country-wide Air inventory.

Moments ago, I checked again (yes, obsessed) and the option to view inventory "Any miles" from the specified zip code seems to have been eliminated. This morning, for example, there were 47 vehicles available (down from 66 Sunday evening). Now there are 24 vehicles available near my zip code in TN, while there are 20 available near Hotel del Coronado in California. (Who doesn't love Coronado!?)

I don't know how limiting visibility helps move inventory. The 2026 AGT I originally ordered mid-August, for example, was in San Francisco. With this new limitation, that 2026 AGT in Fathom Blue with Aeronaut wheels would not have been immediately visible to me, and my decision to get onboard with Lucid may have been delayed by weeks or months.

Does anyone know if making the inventory picture less clear is merely typical EOQ behavior?

I’m speculating that Lucid would prefer not having to move vehicles across country. While customers may be willing to pay transportation costs the expense becomes another negotiating point on what are discounted vehicles. The company is trying to manage cash and cost and this is likely an outgrowth of that. Each of these vehicles is sold at a loss and the company wants to minimize losses wherever possible. And if inventory levels are steadily dropping they can afford to be a bit less flexible.
 
Just a guess, but I think the motivation is to move any remaining 2026s with current incentives before the end of the month. If they have to ship it this late, it likely won't make that deadline to actual delivery. It takes days to arrange transport, then clean up the car after transport, then arrange delivery, etc.

I think that’s a correct assumption. A Lucid advisor specifically told me that before the website began restricting cars by geographic location. I had inquired about a car in a distant location and was told it would not qualify for the current offers because the car must be deliverable by the end of the month for those offers to remain valid.
 
Am i seeing this correct, a 2026 lease costs more than a 2027 model at same MSRP. Is Lucid trying to not sell the inventory.

You can use the Inventory Search on LucidTracker. Can also set up an inventory alert if you're looking for a specific spec and you'll get an email if it finds a match along with sending you a referral code from a registered owner on the site. To use the search, you need to register but the inventory alerts is open to use.
