Greeting,

Frunk opening issue, it seem the frunk opens fine and uniformly when the car is cold in garage and at air conditioned service center. But once I drive it under the sun for a while it fails to open on the first try.

Latches and strike was adjusted at the SC several times and as mentioned works there.

I am suspecting when the car gets hot, the right hand strut somehow reacts slower to push, or even not pushing at all. Attached video if played slow can see right hand go up slower.

Anyone had similar issue and/or have swapped power strut?

Oops think I didn't finish uploading it.

Weird, doesn't load.

I see what you mean, the left side seems more…robust!

Might check that it’s not snagging on the cowling inside the frunk too

My frunk has done exactly the same thing a handful of times. As with almost every Lucid issue, it's inconsistent. My workaround was getting out, standing beside one of the wheels, holding the Fob button, and catching the lid before it has a chance to fall back down; from there, I'd force it to the open position.

I'm not sure how those powered struts could ever struggle to raise a hood. Similar devices are used to open a Suburban liftgate, rear glass and all.

I use the frunk daily, you described it perfectly, left side is a robust happy pusher, the right side occasionally not much so. Trying to convince technician to change the right side since its been in for 3 times for frunk adjustment.

Those strust are plenty powerful, my right side only occasionally reluctant to push when heat soaked, I suspect its a defect that only shows when hot. Or it could be a delayed signal to the right.

Maybe I forgot to click "insert"

This is slow motion.

After servicing my frunk is now 99% good, only once it repeated this but that was after car parked under direct 115F sun.

They heat soaked my car first before adjustment.
