I do not own a Gravity yet. I am following here to learn everything I can before making my decision.

I am aware of everything above. I am not sure yet that Lucid improved fob battery life to years versus six months like other cars, but it does seem improved. And there still seems to be some recurring reports of imperfect entry issues, like this one, though not as frequent as before 3.6.4. And yeah, PaaK should be imminent, based on the recent rumors and multiple threads. But per context above, it is not there yet, while it has been available in the other luxury competitors for many years.

FWIW my own Gravity fob battery life seems to be in the range of about 4-6 months. Not great, but also not particularly troubling. A battery is $1.
A careful, detail-oriented person will likely discover several minor issues and triumphs in owning a Gravity.

It is not so much the cost of the battery that is the problem, as the fob being inop when unexpectedly needed because the battery is dead. The battery life is not a deal breaker for me, but it is a super turd user experience compared to every other car on the planet. And shifting to PaaK makes the battery life experience worse due to lack of regular use.

In my household, we keep our extra fobs in a basket that someone else could grab to move or borrow a car. If a fob sits for eight months and my wife needs to borrow my car, she would lose her mind when the car acts like a toddler and won't run. The Gravity's lack of hard seat memory buttons is another occasional-user crap experience (but this is not unique to the Gravity). Having perpetual partner side-eye about my car is not my desired state.

I mean this in only a positive way: I'm guessing that Gravity isn't going to be a good choice for your situation and perspective. No car is right for everyone.
My own opinion only, after owning an Air and now a Gravity for a total of nearly four years.

Never been to a strip club ?? You've led a very deprived life. :) How did you make it thru your first job after graduating school? Where I grew up (NYC), strip clubs were considered an essential part of developing culturally aware young men. :) I won't go into detail about what I saw at those establishments, but I will leave you with this chestnut - don't demand strip club level lighting until you have saved a very large roll of single dollars. Singles are key to proper behavior at a strip club. Enjoy broadenig your horizons. :)

I agree - absolutely positive, and it could well end up this way. When I started my search, I was considering nearly every luxury SUV big enough to hold my bike in the back and that was quicker than 4-second 0-60. I systematically eliminated most of them because they were missing one or two key things I really wanted. It is now down to the Gravity, Model Y L, EX60, R2, and GLC EV. The GLC looks very sweet on paper, but I am not sure I could get one by year end or shortly thereafter. So, it is a $125K car and three others that are about half that price. I may end up with one of the cheaper ones as a 1 to 2 year holdover to wait and see what the market looks like in 2028.

This is how they kind of pan out...
  1. Gravity - really expensive and may need a little more maturity time, but incredible engineering and performance
  2. EX60 - cheap and top level audio system, but uninspiring looks
  3. R2 - cheap and cool vibe, but also kind of basic
  4. Model Y L - cheap and pinnacle technology, but ubiquitous

The iX5 could be a contender in 2028 as well.
My eye is on the EX60 P12 Cross Country when it becomes available in the USA; quite a step down from Gravity in luxury but very well reviewed, not as large, and with native Google, fitting in better with our digital life.

I'm not interested in the MYL's 3rd row. I am mainly interested because it is a little different. (I had a Model Y already.) And it has a few little upgrades, like better suspension, better 2nd row, better audio system, etc.

Yeah, the iX5 is very high on my curiosity list, particularly the yet-to-be-announced M70 variant. I figure that is a 2028 model year. And ditto the EX60 P12, but they recently pulled the P12 from their configurator, so no telling when that might arrive.

FWIW I'm still using the same fob battery ( I swapped out the one it came with immed) with no apparent decline in usability since my vehicle delivery last March.
I slip my fob in a Faraday pouch each morning when I arrive at my office and each night when I get home.
Not even sure if that is really necessary but it's working so far and if it ain't broke...

And BTW...this car a a friggin' BALST to drive!!

My iX was totaled. I would have gotten the iX M70 but was unable to find a new one, did not want a demo or discontinued model. So I went with a loaded Gravity with just a two year lease, in anticipation of the iX5 electric in 2027. So far so good. Had a bad window already fixed after a 2 week wait. Sometimes reading the forum makes me wonder if I chose wisely, but as I said ,so far it’s been good, and I am enjoying the Gravity.

Everyone's got different needs and goals for what they're looking for, and that's perfectly okay. It's okay to prefer the Gravity, and it's perfectly okay to prefer the iX or another vehicle altogether
