Lane Change Flashes too short?

I don't know about anyone else, but I find the 3 flashes to indicate a lane change insufficient warning of my intentions.

I just moved from a 2016 Lexus ES300H to a 2023 Lucid Air Touring. One of features of the Lexus was the ability to change the # of flashes of the Lane Change turn signal. I changed it from 3 flashes to 7 flashes. I found it especially useful when traffic is heavy and you hope someone will make way for you. After my first week of driving the are on San Diego freeways, I am finding that I have to do the full turn signal in that situation and then I forget to turn if off.

I am sending a suggestion to change this to swfeedback@lucidmotors. Is there another way suggest this to the company?

In the settings for my Polestar 2 it's even called "Triple Flash"...I assumed 3 was industry standard...we only get the option on on or off...

Nah you're right, I was thinking of this from 2.9.0:

Maneuvers with Lane Change Assist are now even smoother, and your turn signal will automatically turn off earlier when the lane change is complete.

Seems like it should be a relatively simple add, though, if they felt so inclined

I agree it seems 3 is what most vehicles I've driven do. It works, but it is short indeed. Watch most professional truck drivers if you are in the U.S. and they hold the signal until fully in the next lane. It ends up being about 8 flashes. I've also wondered if there could eventually be an option for more flashes. I can only presume the trucks do it for safety.

I have always felt 3 flashes is not enough. By the time you give the indication, have cleared the lane by looking over your shoulder, and checked the mirror, and then start to move the lane, the 3 flasher time has expired. They should let us decide what works best for the driver.

Agree, it's too short. Plus, the blind spot camera only stays on during the 3 blinks then shuts off immediately. I've barely started to move over by then. Wish the camera would stay on maybe 3 seconds after the blinker ends.

I do tend to use my mirrors rather than the camera as I get a wider view. The camera view is more is someone hiding back there

I do not have any issues. What am I missing?

Reminder: there are three modes to the flasher
1. click past the detent and it stays active until you are around the corner
2. tap lightly on the detent and you get 3 flashes
3. rest lightly on the detent and it says on until you release

This covers all of my usage nicely.

In my model 3 the indicator stays on until you complete the lane change, then it turns off. It's super great for lane changes, a little annoying when going into turning lanes even though it's supposed to detect that and remain on until completing the turn. 70 percent of the time it works all the time.

I wonder if Lucid could borrow this feature.

The update only affected Drive Assist lane changes. I believe the previous count was 8, and the current is 6, but someone can correct me there. It would flash so many times that the car would be settled into a new lane and drivers adjacent would be waiting for me to move over a second time.

The thread is discussing a standard tap of the turn signal stalk outside of Drive Assist.
