Update on Our Next OTA Release (post-3.6.0)

Hi, everyone. I am getting requests to be among the first to receive 3.6.3. We aren’t asking for hand-raisers for this release, but please rest assured that the we are working expeditiously to get the release out to everyone. We are looking forward to getting your feedback!

Looks like DE owners have been more lucky so far, whereas Touring guys are the opposite. Somehow it feels like a Powerball/Megamillions kind of thing

I would think it has more to do with touring being a newer vehicle and other variants have been around longer..

I have NO IDEA, but it would make sense.

No, that's definitely not it. Based on my AI analysis of posts in this forum and API data collected over time, here is my conclusion on how OTA ordering is determined:

anyone remembers min SOC for the car to be 'eligible' for the update? Mine sits in garage at 38% currently. Not willing to charge it if it somehow messes up the update

The famous @DrZorro is back. It has been a while. Waiting to hear if your issues get taken care of by this update.
Well, famous I am not.... However, I had my service appointment on Wednesday afternoon (the day before the update). Everything is working again perfectly on the car (including the DDPro)--though I've only had I short trip in the car since the service appointment and subsequent software update.

My service guy did the following:

1) Replaced steering wheel (which is what is believed to have fixed the DDPro issue. The capacitive sensor in the wheel was confirmed to have died--again. They seem to only last 6 months for me, apparently--though this is Rev 7 of the wheel (Rev 8 is apparently in the system though he couldn't order it). We'll see if that bug is squashed in Rev 7). I think my first wheel was probably a Rev 1 since it was a very early Dream build.

2) Did the passenger seat recall eval/repair. Thankfully mine was quickly fixable with a hefty steel bracket and some 3M Welding-Glue.

3) Replaced the frunk struts (there's a TSB on them apparently--mine were working perfectly and always have-- but he replaced them anyways with the newer part).

4) Installed foam pads inside the doors to fix potential rattles (that I didn't have).

5) Replaced my original year old keyfob (despite not having any issues) and made sure the keyfob firmware was up to date (it was). He also verified that my 2nd keyfob was a revision that was good-- I just got that one earlier this year and it was manufactured after the cutoff date and so that one didn't need to be replaced).

6) Tested the NFC on the door pillar and console with both keys (was working normally).

I think he also may have checked a few additional things on his list that were all OK as well.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the service visit and the attention to detail and proactive stuff Lucid is doing. They seem to really be looking at every detail now and are trying to get in front of any known problems.

He also confirmed the Dallas service center should hopefully open around October-ish and I think it will be used as a second showroom and car delivery spot as well which is great news for people in this area!

This is great news...we all want the Service experience to improve!

This is another great update! If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to update your key fob to 2.35.13.

After a one hour drive during rush hour, immediately noticeable:
  • DDPro is much smoother in stop-and-go traffic. I used to turn DDPro off under these traffic conditions because it was jerky, but I kept in on almost the entire drive. Very nice improvement!
  • DDPro handles cars merging and leaving the lane much better, keeping the acceleration/deceleration smooth. I still intervened on very close merges where cars forced their way in, but normal merge handling was good. Stay vigilant and be ready to intervene, though.
  • Speed limit detection is better. My regular spot of false speed limit detection no longer triggered.
Also tested:
  • Rear AC works with seat belt, and 3rd row vents activate with rear AC, as per the release notes. A very welcome addition!
The key fob also works great, although I rarely had problems in the past.

Although it’s still early and I don’t have a lot of time and miles on 3.6.3 yet, this release feels very solid! It may not be flashy in features, but it delivers on practical day-to-day quality of life improvements!

Does the 2nd and 3rd row AC vents work if all the seats are down? i.e. if I have a pet back there and the seats down.

Third row seems to be controlled by what's going on in the 2nd row. Second row can either have a 20+ lb. weight on it or have the seat belt connected (e.g. like with a car seat, new in this release). I don't think you can accomplish that with the 3rd and 2nd rows stored, but I haven't tried that. Agreed that it would be nice to set all the vents to run on command. You kind of can by going into HVAC control (fan) and toggling to the Rear panel, but that's a bit of pain to do every time.

We are looking forward to your feedback. Let us know what you think of the updates once you get it.
I've started a separate thread on the rear cabin HVAC updates. We definitely appreciate everyone's questions and feedback.

I'm also very curious about this as we roll with seats down 90% of the time and a 160lb Dane back there. It isn't a lie to say we got the vehicle for her....and maybe a little for me. LOL

Fantastic…I am EAGERLY awaiting the next OTA release in hopes of it unlocking 3.6.0 Hands-Free Drive Assist for me!
Did yours not calibrate? Mine didn't and it turned out to be a camera issue. It's being replaced. You may want to have service check it out.

Yes, mine easily calibrated and then after that, I was only able to use the new hands-free driving assist about 5-10% of my total drive time. It randomly appears and then randomly, mostly shuts off. Hoping 3.6.3 is a the solution!

So far 3.6.3 has been just as amazing as the last updates. Zero issues and rear occupant reports much better interaction with AC now. Just put a couple hundred miles on it and it has been awesome.

since this happened now the second time, did anyone notice your homelink garage/gate opening when you approach the gravity and it unlocks? I cant explain it otherwise, I dont have any gate fobs anywhere near and the gravity is the only thing which could open the gate and its literally the second it unlocks the gate also opens.
