Dream Drive 2 Premium upgrade OTA available

I got an email this morning announcing that Dream Drive 2 Premium is finally available as an OTA upgrade now ($1500). Not sure if everyone got the email or just those with DD2 standard.

I tried it immediately via the Lucid website, and it came back with an error "There has been an error with processing your request. Please try again." It charged my credit card though. Tried it against 10 minutes later, same error and a 2nd credit card charge. Called customer care and waited 30 minutes in queue before it forced me over to the callback queue. But then 1 minute later they called me back. She said they were having issues with it and they were working on it. So far the upgrade hasn't happened on the car yet either. Never easy, but fingers crossed it'll get sorted out and applied to the car.

So your car has all the equipment needed but it's just a software update to give the functionality? I had thought it was more than software but nice to know if it is just that.

For DD2 Premium, yes. DD2 Pro uses more hardware thus is not an available upgrade.

Yes, the Dream Drive 2 to Dream Drive 2 Premium is just a software feature upgrade. The Dream Drive 2 Pro has different/more/upgraded hardware (for the 2026 Gravity's the DD2Premium was $1500 and the DD2Pro was $6750 so an extra $5250 over the DD2Premium which my wife and I thought was a bit steep for something which wasn't working at the time and we didn't know when it would be working, we'd probably get the DD2Pro if we had to do it over)

The timing was ironic. I've had an appointment with the Denver Service Center for almost 2 months to pick up the car and do the upgrade (plus look at a few other minor things). Today was pick-up day. They tech was delivering another customer car nearby and was going to swing by and pick mine up. He said they're so backed up in the shop right now they'd have to keep the car about 2 weeks. We talked it over when he arrived (he was great) and decided it wasn't worth him taking it in. The upgrade was the main reason for service. The rest of the stuff weren't things they were likely to be able to address anyway (the fob delay which appears to really be the car being slow to wake up, the rear seat squeak, the inconsistent AT&T dongle, etc). There's a recall to check a rear seat bracket weld but he said that usually just affects the early builds (before mine), so I decided that can wait. I canceled. One less car in their queue at the shop.

Oh, he also said when they do the upgrade, they do it OTA too. I guess all we were waiting on was the website or app to show it for us.

When I contacted Customer Care when it charged me twice and gave the error, she asked if I used the webpage or app. I still don't show any sign of an UPGRADE feature in the app. There's been a button on the webpage for a while now, but it never showed with anything available until today (and even then I had to load the page twice to get it to show up).

This image from the email is curious. Is anyone else showing the "Upgrades" choice on the screen in the car (or anywhere in the app)? My car isn't.

Anybody else on DD2 Standard surprised & disappointed to find there was no "Surround View Monitoring" while parking?

The feature is indicated as included in the base DD2 in the owner's manual (pg. 121.) Or, more specifically, it is not flagged as solely a "Premium and above" feature. I'd reviewed the manual when considering my required specs before plopping my deposit, as the info about DD2 in the online ordering system is brief & vague -- "Surrounding Object Visualization" sounds a lot like "Surround View Monitoring"... Plus it simply did not occur to me that this feature would not be standard / active on a >$110K vehicle!

Apparently the item in the manual was a misrepresentation mis-print?

If I had bought my GGT I wouldn't blink at paying $1500 just to switch on the 3 disabled cameras, as the Gravity has very compromised front & side visibility for parking -- and it is not a small car. But I'm on a lease (anticipating that the one of the mid-sized models would be more suitable for my needs in 3 years...) And I really don't care about or want any ADAS or automated parking.

Had I known about this missing capability I would have gone for DD2 Premium -- and my lease payment would have gone up by what, $15 a month?

Got the software update notice about 5 hours after submitting the update payment. It was labeled 3.6.0 again (which I already had) but only took about 10 minutes to install, so it must have been just the DD2 Premium update and they didn't give it it's own release number. Anyway, installed fine and it's there now. 3D view on the "P" screen, transparent view option, turn signal views, etc. Cool.

Well, it worked for about 22 hours. Drove some today, and it worked fine. Then getting in the car to drive home... no turn signal cameras. Checked more when I got home and no parking features either. It's back to DD2 standard. I rebooted (twice), no impact.

Damn this crap gets old.

Did you get this fixed? I upgraded Friday and everything was working fine until Sat morning, where everything went back to base features. I called CS this morning and told me they would "look at the logs" to see what happened.

Not yet. I tried calling this morning and I'm still waiting on the callback (about 90 minutes now).

I guess that rules out one possibility. When I did the upgrade through the webpage, it said it failed so I tried again 10 minutes later. Failed then too. Called Thu and they said they'd reverse the 2nd charge. That evening the car updated with it and all ways good. They credited my card Fri for the 2nd $1500, and about that same time the car reverted back. I though maybe reversing the duplicate charge also somehow triggered a deactivation of Premium in the car.

But if yours did the same thing it's probably not that. Just more Lucid glitches.

I’m in the exact same situation. When I picked my car up I was shocked not to have 360 parking. This is common feature on many vehicles now.

DD2 Premium showed up again between 2 drives today. I dropped it off to get the XPEL windshield film installed. Just picked it up and there's the camera views again.

Hopefully it sticks this time.
