Ensure that the fob is far enough from the car to prevent the two from communicating; I'd estimate 20ft. A stronger measure for this is to purchase a faraday box [Link]. The distance will no longer matter, and you'll get the added bonus of anti-theft via RF boosting. Since I started using this in Dec 2024, I haven't changed the battery once; but that's just my anecdote.
The other suggestion of removing bitterant is also valid, or finding batteries without the "child-safe" logo on the packaging.
Purchase Panasonic (Lucid recommended) or Energizer (I trust the brand) batteries from another store. I once had 4 bad batteries in a row, all from the same batch.
