Dream Drive Pro doesn't work anymore on expressway in Germany with 2.9.0

I drive on the B30 (a 'Bundesstraße' or expressway with a 120 km/h / 75 mph speed limit) daily. With older software versions, Dream Drive Pro worked perfectly, but now it only functions as a standard cruise control. I'm really frustrated. I paid so much money for Dream Drive Pro, and instead of getting better, it’s getting worse. I took a test drive on this exact street before I started my lease, and it worked perfectly back then. Now, that capability is gone.

All competitors, who charge half the price of a Lucid, are able to use their lane-centering features anywhere. Only Lucid limits it to highways for no apparent reason.

Last year, there was a bug where Dream Drive Pro worked on any street, even in the city, and it was perfect. I can't understand why Lucid introduced this unnecessary limitation. If this isn't fixed soon, I won't buy another Lucid after my lease ends.

Both drive assist and hands-free? I’ve had hands-free unavailable on random days since 2.9.0

It's worth your time to have it checked regarding the cameras related to DDPro. My car is currently in service for this problem. The cameras were all functional, the system was telling me when I was crossing lines without signaling but DDPro did not steer the car. A mobile technician came out and explained there is another set of cameras related to DDPro that can fail but is not apparent to the driver. It needed to go to a service center for hopefully just recalibration but we will see....

Lucid Motors has likely either not applied for or not received approval to deliver "Hands Free" in Europe. So we have just drive assist.

I don't think so. It stopps working exactly after the update and it works perfectly on highways, but not on highway-like roads. The funny thing is: you’re allowed to drive as fast as your car can go on such roads, but DreamDrive Pro won’t activate.

I didn't realize it was still working on the highways. You're probably right that the update removed the ability for DDPro on all but highways.

Apparently according to the sales rep Düsseldorf yesterday it supposed to be allowed from autumn on for the gravity at least.
 
I guess it is not just for this but for hands free driving in general. however i am not sure to trust 100% the sales rep ;) it seemed I know more about lucid while reading the forum than he did :D
 
I had similar expierience which I was enfuriated by, my DDPro stoped working on streets/highways which have worked before. Check if you really have internet connection (nevermind the signal bars), mine is somehow disabled - I need to write an e-mail with this problem.
Nevertheless the fix for me was, to enable wi-fi hub from my phone and connect the Lucid to it - everything works in than.

Weird,I haven't tried to use it since the last update to 2.9.0. my trip this morning has no hands free available on a highway that I've driven it on before hands-free. Bright and sunny but maybe too bright? Also I noticed the lane markers shown on the display were solid but the lanes were dashed on the pavement with no visibility issues.

You’d think sun would disable regular drive assist too though. Like was the sun low and in front of you?

I’ve also had a weird issue with hands-free becoming unavailable after crossing the border between the USA and Canada, even though it works on those same roads in the days after crossing. It seems to reset once you leave the car and let it go to sleep.

Sun was normal, but maybe bright. Not head on. The way back 1 hour later, hands free was fine going the opposite direction. It clearly didn't like something but I guess I won't know. I could see a cross border issue, glad it fixed itself!
 
My car is GCC spec, so its essentially same as European spec with no handsfree. It still works find after 2.9 update.
I did loose my cellular data for couple days but that might be a carrier issue.

Does your map show your location correctly for Drive Assist to activate?

Yes, I can confirm everything works fine one highways, but not on highways like roads.
