Target $0

Or it’s a business decision or a personal decision. I’m not happy about it but Lucid is no more a “joke” because of it than before.
Correct, and in theory part of a company growing up is no longer having a reliance on single-person risk. If they needed Emad to do literally everything for 24/7 they are not going places...

I was intimately familiar with a turnaround with front seats when GE's stock tried to go to 0 and then they brought in an Outside Larry Culp to bring it back....Much bigger company, was a 3-5 year project for sure and no benefit of fast growing products...

LCID closed at $5.17, a 10% rally!!!!! 🤩
I wouldn't get too excited. Any movement, up or down, isn't tied to company performance right now. I think they'll probably need to start delivering 10k+ vehicles per quarter (before Cosmos production commences) for the market to actually start buying back in. Everyone has been waiting for Lucid to prove there is meaningful demand for Gravity.

Also, higher sales would improve revenue, but more importantly, it'll drive significant margin improvements, which is far more important for institutional investors.

Stock is oversold. That’s why it went up.

Any idea whats going on?

On IBKR there is 0 shares for shorts to borrow and shorting is at all time high.

No, but I love it 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
I am guessing it's a combination of LCID being oversold (mostly by shorts) and, hopefully, some whispers that Q2 Gravity sales will have more than made up for the Q1 downturn due to the middle-row seatbelt defect (now fixed). But it's totally speculation on my part.

The 2nd shift layoff is a clear indicator that FT2026 sales are not looking good. I think there will be a significant reset on FY2026 plans.

Aug 4 will be Napoli's first appearance at a LCID earnings meeting. It is his first, and perhaps only, chance to set the expectations going forward. There is virtually no chance Lucid can meet the FY2026 output/sales/financials. Napoli must set realistic expectations. Robotaxi, on its own won't save the day for Lucid.

I disagree. They can make many, many Gravity and Air with one shift. It's fine if expectations are brought in line with reality. Winterhoff obviously was not able to do so.

I didn't say Lucid cannot make or sell more Gravity and Air. But there will be a significant haircut on FY2026 plans. Clearly, Day Shift can make more than Lucid could sell.

The macro-economic indicators (inflation, interest rates, housing market, etc.) are not suggesting growth. I hope I am wrong!

People shorting a stock don’t go on the open market and sell. They have to borrow shares. And the person loaning the shares gets an interest rate for doing so. It can be quite high for some shares with low floats. A few years ago they were offering like 35-40% annualized dividends for shares of newly listed controversial names.

Zero shares available might be a weird thing where someone who previously loaned out shares either sold or took their shares off the market. A large holder might have died freezing their shares. Or people can’t stop shorting and have literally exhausted the supply of shares.

I don't know but the last 10 times it jumped like this it was all gone (and more) within a week.

I'll believe the real turn when I see it.
The real turn will happen when (if) Lucid executes on the plan to ramp up Gravity, but more importantly, Cosmos and Earth. The mid-size will be the turning point -- one way or another.
