Lucid app shows "Vehicle offline" when the car is connected to WiFi over a long period of time

When the car is connected to WiFi at my home, while it initially is responsive to the Lucid app on my Android Pixel 10 Pro phone, if I try to connect to my car from the app again next morning the app shows "

Vehicle Offline" banner and is unable to reconnect to the car. It doesn't happen when I turn off the WiFi in my car and I can reliably reproduce this bug. This bug wasn't fixed by 3.5.1 update and it was present prior to its predecessor. I also reported it when the car been serviced at the Lucid Service in Costa Mesa, CA.

This happens to my Gravitiy as well, not often , but usually at the most inconvenient time when I actually need to use the app. Turning off WiFi fixes it, don’t recall if it reconnects immediately or after a beauty sleep.
 
I’m experiencing the same problem today - App on my i-Phone shows the car “waking up” and never connects. I didn’t know about the WiFi connection so I turned off WiFi then turned it back on and this fixed the phone connection. Thanks for educating me on this.

We have solar panels on our house and home chargers for our Gravity and a Tesla Model 3. Unfortunately, the power company only pays us about 10 cents for every dollar of power that we produce so we want to use the power as we produce it. Because of this, I want to be able to use the phone app to turn charging on and off based on how much power we are producing and the state of charge of our home battery. The goal is to finish the “solar” day with a fully charged home battery (to last the night) and fully charged cars for the next morning. Going out every morning to cycle WiFi on my car to make this happen is a real pain in the ass that we don’t have to deal with on our Tesla.
 
Why not use a wallbox which 'talks' with your pv? And surplus charging available?!

Is there a reason you can’t just let your phone and car communicate via cellular? It sounds like your phone is connecting to the car fine without the Wi-Fi.

There has long been some communication SNAFUs caused by having both Wi-Fi and cellular on in the car, so many of us just always keep the Wi-Fi off (except recently when they made us turn it on for the big update!) and use cellular to communicate with the car via the app, for all charging and climate control needs.

Is there a link you can send me where I can learn how to do that? I haven't had time to work on something like that yet so any info I could get would be a help.
 
It depends on the photovoltaik system you use for example
We have 6 x the Zappi 2.1 from myenergi, also in our business and it works like a charm with surplus enery charging.
Iam not sure if it is available in the states though.

But there must be some wallbox system which can do that automatically.
 
Worth trying a full power cycle on the car if you haven't yet—sometimes the WiFi connection just gets stuck and needs a complete shutdown to reset.

Check https://charge.weavegrid.com/sce/ if you are in So. Cal. You get paid to have your charging controlled to charge at the best times.
 
I use an Enphase IQ 2 EVSE to charge our EVs using only excess solar. It modulates the charging current in 1-amp increments every minute or so. I don't have to think about it - just plug in any time. It's also AC-bidirectional capable, someday, when standards and software are ready, hoping later this year.

Sounds like turning off your car's wifi is the right short-term solution.

It's also AC-bidirectional capable, someday, when standards and software are ready, hoping later this year. […]
Thanks for this info. I’ve been looking for a charger that could use only excess solar and is bidirectional capable. I was hoping Lucid’s charger would fit the bill.

Enphase also plans to introduce an 11kW DC-bidirectional charger around the end of this year or early next.
It seems that nearly all EVs will be compatible with DC bidirectional charging, and some will additionally also be compatible with AC bidirectional charging.

Is your solar system controller also Enphase? Mine is Franklin - I’ll need to check for compatibility.

I wonder if Franklin is working with anyone as a bidirectional charging hardware provider.

Is the Lucid Air AC bidirectional?

The Air is intended to be capable of AC-bidirectional charging, likely after a software update. Same as the Gravity.
The RangeXChange cable uses this same functionality for V2V rather than V2H, but it's the same electronics in the car providing the 240V AC power.
