For me when issues crop up. It's 100% down time. Last week was fine, this week I have had to shake the crap outta the key or use my phone on every attempt to use the vehicle. It's a mess. And this is on fresh batteries. Dave for my wife's key, so I suspect software gremlins that haven't resolved with reboots.

When the updated key fob firmware update came out in January I did my update far away from the car using the latest phone app software. After it said it was complete, I instinctively popped the battery out, let it set for a bit and put the battery back in. I'm also using an Eveready cell. My fob has worked pretty much flawlessly since then, including the auto lock & unlock feature. The battery is about 4.5 months old now and is just starting to show a little slowness in auto-unlocking the doors. Might be time for a new one.

IMO it might depend on the battery. I've only replaced mine once when I got the Gravity in December and haven't had to since. I used the RetailDigitals brand on Amazon as I use their CR2032 batteries in my AirTags from the time when other batteries' bitter coatings would cause problems with battery contact in them. I'm in the keyfob works 100% voting here. Not sure how much that has to do with battery or possible fob revisions though.

I mean for $3 it cant hurt to try

60% of the time, it works every time.
apparently socktucker has me on ignore
That has become a popular fob quote. I hit it a week ago also.

Question, does the Air key fob also have software like the Gravity key fob?
The Air's fob has firmware, but isn't customer upgradable.

I visited the Atlanta (Roswell) service center today.

Based on what I read in another thread I asked the SC to check the serial numbers of my fobs. I had October delivery of my DE. My fobs had been mostly trouble-free, although not waking the car up a handful of times. One of the fobs was version 1, which they replaced (the one I carry). The other fob, assumed to be the one I received a couple of months after delivery, was version 2. So, if you’re having problems with your fob have them check the serial number.

I took delivery of my Gravity DE in October and had key fob issues on and off, requiring resets until 3.5.1 and a key fob update. A few weeks ago, had issues with key fob operation even after replacing the batteries and resetting the fob. The vehicle did not recognize the key and could not drive to work. I had to use a keycard to operate in a bind. When I called the technical support, they suggested a new fix that has worked flawlessly so far. Essentially, during the reset, you would need to hold the unlock button while replacing the battery after the 20 second window. Apparently, this step repairs the keyfob to the vehicle. I have been using Panasonic 2032s. I have never had good luck with Lucid batteries since my 2022 AIRGT days. Hope this helps/works for those who are having inconsistent and frustrating experience with the Gravity Keyfobs.
Cheers!

FYI...when popping out the fob battery it's best to wipe off the flat surfaces and then ONLY handle it by the edges when re-inserting or use a cloth to press it back in. This way there's no oils from your fingers on the contact areas which are known to reduce battery life in all "coin" batteries

Hello! One discovery that might help many of you with key fob issues.
I found that turning off the driver attention alert and the drowsy driver features (for ALL profiles), gets the key fob to start working reliably.

Remember to do it for all the profiles as if any of the profiles have it on, there is something still running by the gravity computer that seem to just crash everything and getting the key fob detection issues (even the card didn't want to open the car) if the profile with these settings on was loaded recently.

Hope it helps

I can't imagine any scenario where this would actually work. But with this car, I've seen stranger things end up being true. So what the hey? Give it a try?

I know. I had 2 profiles. One for my wife and one for me. I turned it off because it was annoying to get the watch the road all the time.
She left for a moth so her profile was never active. I had almost 0 issues with the keyfob while she was gone.
The day she was back and used the car for the first time. Next day my keyfob didn’t open. Even putting the keycard in the center console didn’t work. The keyfob detection and slowness in responding came back, one day they car didn’t even turned on the screens after getting into the car. After a week of issues I turned off those settings in her profile too and now it has been working consistently and everything more responsive.

So probably the driver assist features share the processing capacity with the keyfob/access services.

But has been a week without complaints from my wife which is a great thing.

I have all that on and have no problems with my fob.

Probably it depends on other features on the Gravity that would fight for the same resources. Mine is a fully speced Grand Touring with dream drive pro and that is the straw that breaks it. If you are lacking other systems/features this is not pushing it to constantly break in your case.

Probably for those who had many keyfob issues it’s a matter of stopping all non essential features until it works reliably.

I have a fully speced GGT. I think the only think you're proving here is the adage that correlation is not causation.

Ugh -- we were just in for service, they replaced one of our keys and both batteries, and yet today the key stopped working. No automatic unlock/lock, buttons unresponsive until the battery was taken out and replaced, still acting weird.

It's so frustrating to have a vehicle that is generally great but has keys less reliable than a Yugo. They should just recall and replace the entire key system -- it's clear that they're never going to make this one work. Such an embarrassment -- and zero explanations.

Why are you still using the key fobs instead of the app?

I don't recall exactly when the drive via app update was released (66 days ago according to Lucidupdates.com), but I've used the key fob twice since then and that was just to see if it even still worked.
Haven't used it since.

I’m sorry this didn’t fix the issue for you. I still believe it is a fob issue more than a car issue, but I also acknowledge it could be more than one thing given the persistent problems being reported.

I’m now 4 weeks into the fob replacement by the service center. Happy to report that I have had a fully functioning and reliable entry and exit experience since then. 100% handle presentation as I approach and no auto-lock, trunk- or frunk-opening failures. I still find myself checking - and double checking - the auto lock when I walk away. But so far flawless.

It just works.

I am still figuring out why my car loves to go up to the highest suspension setting after I exit but as long as I can get me and my family into the car seamlessly, I don’t really care!

Disregard my earlier post/question.
You're attempting to use auto unlock/lock.
