Those are contractural business commitments from Uber and the PIF, not BS $100 consumer reservations like Cybertruck and R2.

Actually only 8 months behind Rivian. Gravity was released 4 years after the Rivian, despite 29 day stop sale, sold 1314, vs 1841 for Rivian.

Release date has an insignificant effect on number of sales if the product is good.

I would request to read the post again(mentioned public not media or insiders).

I don't want to argue hypotheticals. Let me give you a couple of point-of-reference:

i) 6 months ago, a Rivian mobile tech came to my home to do the 2-year maintenance on my 2023 R1S. I asked him what was going on with his life at Rivian. He told me he was getting trained on the R2 service.
ii) in Fall of 2024, Lucid did a bunch of publicity showing of the Gravity. I recall the reviewers at those events said they were allowed to drive the cars but not allowed to touch any of the SW stuff. Then, in December 2024, a handful of Lucid loyalists, including a few in this forum, were invited to a "picnic" in AZ where a handful of Gravities were "delivered". In reality, Gravity didn't really deliver any conseqential vehicled till mid 2025!


When you say Gravity is 8 months behind the R2, are we going to watch the same movie again!

So what if they haven’t released the car. They will do it when they think they are ready and the time is right.

The negativity with these guys is outstanding! Everything is a big issue!

Maybe, maybe not. Who knows. If you can tell such prophecies, you would be a billionaire. I believe they will be ready this time. If you don’t, don’t invest, I’m not telling you to. But you trying to convince me otherwise does nothing.

So that’s your biggest gripe, they haven’t released the car to the public? I believe they don’t want to take the shine away from the Gravity.

You believe they will not be ready so didn’t show the car to the public.

I don’t care either way, even if delayed, in 10 years, they will dominate the luxury EV market. I’m not trading, I’m investing long term. There is a big difference. Valued less than 2 billion!

There is no way you can convince me not to invest!

I was no aware that Lucid was selling the Touring in 2022. Do you care to elaborate?

To what "shine" are you referring? When Kyle Conner first test drove a pre-production Gravity, he all but said it was going to be the likely winner of the Motor Trend "SUV of the Year" award (and he was on the judging panel). When the award came out, the Gravity got little more than a passing nod. It has come nowhere near the award sweep the Air pulled off in its first year. Instead, we've had major reviewer after reviewer report software problems and difficulty getting into and starting the cars. And other major reviewers who raved about the Air and even beta versions of the Gravity (such as Throttle House, the Autopian, etc.) have either failed to review the production car or made no mention of it at all since the start of deliveries.

Lucid desperately needs the cash flow from robust mid-size sales. If they're holding off because they think the Gravity needs more time to bask in some imagined spotlight, then they're more deluded than I think.

What they most need to do is hold back on the Cosmos until its entry mechanisms and software are functioning reliably. The fate of the company hangs on this more than anything else.
