All of a sudden, I'm having trouble with CarPlay loading in my AGT. CarPlay has always loaded and played flawlessly in the past, so this is something very new and unusual. I suspect the cause is one of the two iOS updates Apple pushed out in the past few days. I've done the usual trouble shooting: Air reset, deleting and reinstalling my iPhone in the car, turning bluetooth off/on, cursing, etc etc. Deleting and reinstalling the phone in the car worked temporarily, but next time I got in the car, no joy. Any ideas what might be going on?

Interesting. There was a video posted just two days ago by a popular Canadian YouTuber

He had the exact same thing happen. CP was working perfectly and he raved about it and then he cuts away to a comment that after the video it had completely failed and was unable to load for unclear reasons. IOS update might explain it. I’ll check mine later today.
 
Running IOS 26.4.1 on Lucid 2.8.30 and it just happened to me. Worked fine on the outboard part of a round trip. Return trip 3 hours later CarPlay would not start 🤷‍♂️
 
I have found when I have issues with CP not connecting that disabling BT in the vehicle and the phone then re-enabling BT usually gets CP back. I have also observed that if I open a vehicle door, let CP connect, then close the door and walk away for less than a min, then walk back and get into the vehicle, that CP many times will not reconnect.
 
This is something new. I never had to resort to telematic acrobatics to get CP to play before. Apple's software quality is definitely in decline. I have several buggy Apple apps going of late.
 
Another thing to watch out for, if you happen to use personal hotspot to let your Mac or other devices use your phone’s internet connection: often the device will hold onto the connection even after you put the laptop or whatever away. And in that state, the phone can’t create the ad Hoc connection to your car it needs for CarPlay. Turning off hotspot will resolve this.

I use my laptop in cafes a lot and I run into this all the time.
 
I got a message, “ something wrong with your bluetooth device, reconnect it” then my mobile disappeared in the connections. After locking the car and getting in a while after, it shows my connection and Carplay icon next to my mobile connection is missing.
 
Yeah, in fairness to Lucid I have had wireless CarPlay on an Audi since 2019 with similar issues. Wireless CarPlay used to, may still, require a bluetooth handshake followed by a 5ghz adhoc wireless connection to the phone- and if anything interfered with the original process, it would clam up and simply not work, sometimes for hours. I discovered that my phone switching to house wifi on 2.4ghz outside where the signal was weak would actually prevent it from pivoting to 5ghz for the adhoc connection to the car.

This has always been a little bit shaky for me across several cars, so once I learned the only way to get lossless audio was to go wired, I started plugging in every time and the problems by and large went away.

I'd echo this. I have a 2018 BMW and it runs into the same issues. When my phone is not near wifi, almost no issues connecting. Near my house on first start up, it would lose its mind. Wondering if Lucid is running into the same issue here.
 
Well I solved the problem. I noticed that CarPlay kept trying to load, but failed. Since I have CarPlay set to load contacts, etc. I took a painstaking dive into my my phone's settings. It turns out that, during one of my recent iOS updates, a couple of my contacts groups got scrambled. I think what happened is that when Lucid tried to load those garble contact groups, it got hung and would eventually time out. I've been taken numerous drives since discovering this, and CarPlay has loaded perfectly every time.

It might be useful to report that the [email protected], so they know there's that specific problem they can update the car to account for and handle properly.
 
I actually think the problem is my phone not the car. The car was trying to load a contact group that didn't exist and eventually timed out.
